Since the 16th July 2010 it is a legal requirement of all financial companies in the UK to check their clients against the UK Governments treasury list. This is just a XL or CSV file on the UK treasury website.
I am not allowed to show this website on this site thanks to the ridiculous new rules on rent a coder that stop me. But it does not affect the project just the fact that it is wasting my time posting projects.
This project needs written in VB.NET using ADO.NET.
This is a simple project to download the file from the website link, to a local file. Then from a SQL recordset containing all cleints from our db write a program to see if there are any matches.
## Deliverables
You need to download the HM treasury list from
hm-treasury gov website.
They are in Excel or CSV as standard links but I am not allowed to show these on this site due to new rules.
You may want to use a local table in a SQL2005 database and import the data files. If so just create a Database and include the SQL create scripts in deliverables. We will sort out the DB connections strings here on testing. We will need the code delivered not a program.
You also need to create a simple tClient table and populate with some names that will and will not match.
Create table tClient(
Client ID varChat(25),
Firstname varChar(60),
Surname varChar(100),
Add1 varChar(120),
Add2 varChar(120),
Add3 varChar(120),
Add4 varChar(120),
Postcode varChar(12),
DOB datetime)
The program needs to be in VB.NET and [login to view URL]
select * from tClient
Just need to loop round this and see if there are any matches.
I have attached two sample files. The program must though also download these from a website link
