This add-in, to be called "XPS", adds a command button to the Home ribbon in Outlook with the label "XPS disabled". On being pressed XPS is enabled and the label on the command button changes to "XPS enabled". Thus clicking this button switches between XPS being enabled and being disabled and vice-versa.
When XPS is enabled, all inward emails to a nominated email address are scanned to find any that are unread. Whenever an unread one is found it is processed. This scanning also takes place whenever an email is received. The unread emails are copied to a file store whose location and other details are held in ConfigXPS.cfg. For unread emails:
1 An entry is written to a log file
2 The email is copied in .eml or equivalent format to a file store
3 The email is marked as read
The add-in should be coded in VB and should run on versions 2010. It will run in a controlled environment thus no security steps are needed. Similarly input is machine generated and error checking should be kept to a minimum.
The site: <[url removed, login to view]> contains many references and sample code which may help. This is a simple project for any developer experienced in VB add-ins for Outlook.
