We need a program which will create a data feed file for the Google Merchant Center (Google Base) and transmit the file automatically.
This program will need to access the products which are stored in an MS SQL server. It should access the product table to gain all the info, create the feed file, and have the ability ftp this info to the correct google location.
If there is an automated update method other than ftp, we will be open to that as well.
The program will need to be configurable so that the can change the sql server address, userid & password - as well as - the google merchant account login info- and seller URL info. We plan to use this with several clients.
Also, the program needs to be able to be run manually or automatically. Normally it run run every night automatically. We may run it manually from time to time as well.
This program MUST BE WRITTEN IN VISUAL BASIC 6. That is what we use to code.
There are 2 screen captures attached to this bid. One is the product table which holds all the product info. The other is called prod units & holds each product, the unit it is sold by & the price for each unit type.
Please email any other questions.

This was originally written in another language, but we are not going to use that version. These are some notes from the first time we wrote it. You may want to look at these in case you wish to modify your bid at all. ------ I prefer to store all the config information in some sort of text based .ini file. I'd like to run the program as a regular app instead of a service. We will use the Windows task schedular to initiate it. So, it needs some sort of simple UI so we know when its running, but should not require user input, so that it can run unattended. Also, as an FYI, google has some apis for the submission of the data feed [url removed, login to view] We might have more than one unit for a given product. Just add an order by to order it by [url removed, login to view] DESC and take the first record you get for each product. In the case of an item being sold more than one way, this will usually give us the smallest unit, which is preferable. Also, if google asks for the unit info, please use UM_Mplex from tblProdUnits, which is more descriptive.
