I have a small project to read in an xml file (that always have the same format) and put the data into variables. Requirements are to use VB6 only and use the Chilkat XML activeX control (it's free, just download it from their site [url removed, login to view]). Here's a sample of the xml file: 20/20 20/40 Here's how I want the variables to look (just use the xml headings, making sure no duplicate names occur: UnaidedVisualAcuity_Data_DIST_OD = "20/20" UnaidedVisualAcuity_Data_DIST_OS = "20/40" ... and so on. All variables will be strings. An array with constants for the index would be acceptable also. A sample xml file is given; you can insert your own test data into the fields if you want to test. So, to summarize, I'd like a small module that takes an xml file (actually just the string) as an argument and returns the global variables or array filled with data. 'psuedo code to get you started Public UnaidedVisualAcuity_Data_DIST_OD as string Sub ParseXML (sData as string) Dim xml As New ChilkatXml 'code to parse string to variables here End Sub
