I’m battling an aggravating situation on my WordPress/Divi site: changes I make in the builder, plugin updates and some dashboard settings appear to save and then quietly roll back. Activating or deactivating plugins can also fail. The live website is also reporting an error, and I have had an issue with the cookie banner disappearing, so I would like the overall WordPress installation checked rather than treating this as only a Divi problem. SiteGround has investigated and found application-level 403 responses involving Divi and Jetpack. ModSecurity was checked and was not identified as the cause, and Cloudflare Development Mode made no difference. What you’ll encounter Divi changes that don’t persist Plugin updates and settings that revert Plugin activation/deactivation failures, sometimes returning “The link you followed has expired” REST/API-related 403 responses An error reported on the live website Cookie banner/functionality issues Several caching layers: Cloudflare, SiteGround Optimiser and Divi CSS caching A useful controlled test on staging: I added TEST124 in Divi. The Divi sync-to-server request returned 200 OK, contained TEST124 in the payload, and returned save_verification: true. After reloading, TEST124 had disappeared. Scope of work Replicate the problems and identify the underlying cause, including database, filesystem, permissions, REST/API, authentication/nonces and caching. Audit all installed plugins for duplicates, obsolete or unnecessary plugins and conflicts. Nothing should be removed until the site is stable. Review WordPress, Divi, Wordfence, Jetpack, SiteGround Optimiser, Cloudflare and REST/security settings. Check and correctly configure the different caching layers so they work together rather than interfering with WordPress writes. Check the live-site error and investigate why the cookie banner/functionality has disappeared. Once stable, safely remove genuinely unnecessary plugins. Provide a short handover explaining what was fixed, what was removed and the final configuration. Acceptance criteria Divi edits persist after repeated save/reload tests. Plugin updates and activation/deactivation work normally. WordPress dashboard settings remain changed. The live-site error is resolved. The cookie banner/functionality is working correctly. No relevant new 403/500 or permission errors appear in the logs. Cloudflare, SiteGround Optimiser and Divi caching are correctly configured. Any removed plugins have a clear justification. I can provide administrator access and, if genuinely required, SSH access. Creating a new administrator has also caused problems. The administrator invitation/confirmation email was received successfully, but the new administrator was then blocked at the 2FA stage. Before starting substantial work, please confirm your estimated hours/cost and let me know before exceeding the agreed amount.

Hello — the TEST124 save returning 200 with save_verification true but vanishing after reload points past Divi UI and into WordPress write persistence, object/cache, permissions, or security hooks. Since SiteGround saw application-level 403s around Divi and Jetpack, I would first trace REST/admin-ajax requests, nonces, Wordfence/Jetpack rules, and the database write path before disabling plugins. - I will reproduce the Divi, settings, plugin update, and activation failures on staging. - I will inspect logs, database writes, filesystem permissions, REST, and auth flows. - I will map Cloudflare, SiteGround Optimiser, and Divi caching into one safe setup. - I will fix the live error and cookie banner, then remove only justified plugins. I can start with a controlled staging diagnosis and keep a clear change log before touching live. Can you provide staging admin plus SSH if the logs or filesystem checks require it? Roman

The fact that Divi returns 200 OK with save_verification: true and still loses TEST124 after reload points to a deeper write/persistence problem, not just a builder glitch. I’d trace this from the WordPress write path outward: REST/authentication, database write behavior, filesystem/permissions, object/page caching, and plugin/security interference, then verify it on staging before touching live stability. I’ve handled WordPress cases where edits looked successful but were being undone by caching, failed background writes, security layers, duplicate plugins, or environment-level rules interacting badly with Divi, Jetpack, Wordfence, and host optimizers. The mix of SiteGround, Cloudflare, Divi caching, REST 403s, and 2FA friction is exactly the kind of layered issue that needs systematic isolation rather than random fixes. Before I start, I’ll confirm estimated hours and keep within the agreed limit. - Has SiteGround shared any specific 403 log entries or request paths tied to Divi/Jetpack? - Is the cookie banner handled by a plugin, theme module, or custom script? - Are you happy for me to begin on staging first and move to live only after the save/reload tests pass consistently?

Hi, I hope you are doing well! This is a well-documented issue and I can help you get to the root of it. Based on what you've described, this looks like a conflict between caching layers, REST API authentication, and possibly filesystem or database write permissions causing silent rollbacks. Here is how I will approach it: Diagnose save/rollback failures across database, REST API, nonces, and filesystem permissions. Audit caching layers so Cloudflare, SiteGround Optimiser, and Divi CSS caching cooperate properly. Review plugin conflicts and resolve the 403 responses, live-site error, and cookie banner issue. Fix the 2FA/admin creation block and confirm stable user management. A few questions before I begin: 1. Is the staging environment a full clone of live, or are there any differences in hosting config or plugins? 2. Are there any recent changes, like a plugin update or hosting migration, that coincided with when the rollbacks started? 3. Do you have a preferred timeline for resolution, or is this urgent due to the live-site error? I will confirm hours and cost before any substantial work begins, and will not exceed the agreed amount without checking with you first. Azeem Amin

With my extensive experience in WordPress and PHP development, I firmly believe that I am the ideal candidate for this project. I have a proven track record of proficiently troubleshooting complex issues, which is evident from the diversity of apps and websites I've built for startups and businesses. Your challenges - Divi changes not persisting, plugin updates reverting, REST/API-related 403 responses, etc. - are something I'm well-equipped to handle. In terms of skills, I'm proficient in Linux (for SSH access), MySQL (for database analysis), PHP (for coding), and web development. This collection of skills is crucial for identifying and resolving problems with your WordPress/Divi site. My ability to streamline different caching layers (like SiteGround Optimizer and Divi CSS caching) with Cloudflare comes as an added advantage; this ensures that these layers work together instead of interfering with your system. Additionally, my history of critically reviewing installed plugins will be invaluable in auditing your plugins for conflicts and redundancies. I understand the importance of maintaining site stability during the optimization process, which is why no plugins will be removed until necessary.

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I understand you're facing persistent issues with your WordPress/Divi site, particularly with changes reverting and REST/API concerns. It’s crucial to ensure that your site functions as intended and provides a seamless user experience. What usually matters most here is the interplay between the Divi builder and how changes are saved in the database. A common issue in systems like this is caching conflicts or improper permissions, leading to changes not being reflected. The tricky part is usually pinpointing whether the issue lies in the theme, plugins, or server configurations. My approach would involve a thorough review of your WordPress setup, focusing on database interactions and caching mechanisms, including Cloudflare settings. I’d ensure that REST/API integrations are configured correctly to facilitate smooth data flow and admin workflows. I’ve worked on similar WordPress projects, optimizing performance and ensuring stability. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – Are there specific plugins you suspect may be causing these issues? Q2 – What caching solutions are currently in place, and have you tested disabling them? Q3 – How do you manage user roles and permissions on your site? Happy to discuss further and suggest the best technical approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi there, I understand the frustration of changes mysteriously reverting on your WordPress site. This is often caused by a combination of server caching, incorrect file permissions, or a conflict with object caching from a plugin or server-side service like Redis. My approach will systematically resolve this. First, I'll audit your server configuration, specifically checking for persistent object caching in Redis or Memcached that isn't properly purged. I'll review Cloudflare's cache rules and your site's .htaccess file to ensure browser and proxy caching isn't interfering. Next, I'll verify file permissions for WordPress core, the uploads folder, and Divi to ensure changes can be written permanently. I'll also examine your database for corruption and test in a staging environment with plugins selectively disabled to identify any conflicts. I have extensive experience debugging these exact issues on Linux servers with MySQL. Best Regards, Khorshed Alam, RS Software

Hi, I understand this is a WordPress-wide issue, not simply a Divi problem. I can investigate the save/revert behaviour properly instead of applying temporary fixes. I’ll first work safely on staging and trace the TEST124 case through database writes, filesystem permissions, REST/API responses, authentication/nonces, caching and security layers. I’ll also review Divi, Wordfence, Jetpack, SiteGround Optimiser, Cloudflare and plugin conflicts without removing anything until the site is stable. I’ll then fix the live-site error, cookie banner issue, plugin activation/update problems and configure the caching layers correctly. After stabilising the site, I’ll remove only genuinely unnecessary plugins with clear justification. I’ll repeatedly test Divi saves, dashboard settings, plugin updates/activation, REST requests and logs, then provide a concise handover of the root cause, fixes and final configuration. Ready to start ASAP.

Hello, I can investigate the WordPress/Divi persistence failures systematically across the database, filesystem permissions, REST/API responses, authentication and nonce handling, plugin conflicts, and all caching layers. I will begin with staging replication using the TEST124 case, review relevant logs and configuration, then validate fixes through repeated save, reload, plugin, and dashboard tests. I will also examine the live-site error and restore the cookie banner functionality without removing plugins until stability is confirmed. Afterward, I’ll provide a concise handover documenting changes, removals, and the final Cloudflare, SiteGround Optimiser, Divi, Wordfence, and Jetpack configuration. I will confirm the estimated hours and cost before substantial work and notify you before exceeding the agreed amount. Regards Muhammad

Hi, To address the issues on your WordPress/Divi site, I will start by replicating the problems you described, focusing on the Divi changes that do not persist and the plugin activation failures. I will conduct a thorough audit of all installed plugins to identify any duplicates or conflicts that may be causing these issues. Next, I will review the configurations of WordPress, Divi, Wordfence, Jetpack, SiteGround Optimiser, and Cloudflare to ensure they are set up correctly and not interfering with each other. I will also check the caching layers to ensure they work harmoniously, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of your site’s functionality. I will investigate the live-site error and the cookie banner issue, ensuring that all functionalities are restored. Once the site is stable, I will safely remove any unnecessary plugins and provide a handover document detailing what was fixed and the final configuration. To get started, I will need administrator access to your site and any relevant details regarding the current plugin setup. Thanks!

A successful Divi save request followed by the content disappearing on reload usually means WordPress is accepting the request but something later is blocking, overwriting, or failing to persist the change. I’d reproduce it on staging, inspect REST/API behavior, nonces, permissions, caching order, and check whether a plugin/security layer or database-side issue is causing the rollback. I work on WordPress troubleshooting like this regularly, especially when Divi, Jetpack, Wordfence, Cloudflare, and hosting optimizers are all involved at once. In cases like yours, the real fix usually comes from identifying which layer is interfering with writes and plugin actions, then cleaning up duplicate/obsolete plugins only after the site is stable. I can also document the final working setup so future updates are safer. - Do you already have a recent staging copy with the same plugin stack and Cloudflare settings as live? - Has the live-site error shown as a visible frontend issue, or only in logs/reporting? - Is the 2FA block coming from Wordfence or another login/security plugin?

Hello there If you are interested in this proposal, I’d be happy to discuss the next steps and project process with you. I am interested in your project and can present my previous work as references. I can diagnose this as a full WordPress infrastructure issue rather than treating it only as a Divi problem. I’ll reproduce the save and plugin issues, then investigate database writes, filesystem permissions, REST/API requests, authentication and nonces, 403/500 errors, and the interaction between Cloudflare, SiteGround Optimiser and Divi caching. I’ll also audit plugin conflicts, investigate the live error and cookie banner issue, and only remove unnecessary plugins after the site is stable. I’ll document every fix and configuration change clearly. Portfolio: https://www.freelancer.com/u/Hammadhassan21 Could you provide staging access first so I can reproduce TEST124 and confirm the root cause before estimating the required hours and cost? Hello!, I am a US-based senior software engineer, and this kind of WordPress/Divi issue is exactly the sort of problem I like solving carefully, not guessing at. What you’re describing usually comes down to cache/object persistence, plugin/theme conflicts, REST/API interference, or server-side permissions/security rules. My approach would be: 1. Reproduce the reverting issue 2. Audit Divi, plugins, theme hooks, and Cloudflare/cache layers 3. Check REST/API/admin requests, PHP logs, and DB write behavior 4. Isolate the exact conflict and apply a permanent fix 5. Verify edits stay saved across builder, admin, and frontend I focus on fixing the root cause so you’re not stuck with a temporary workaround that breaks again later. I pay close attention to the details because with issues like this, the smallest overlooked setting can be the reason changes keep reverting. Could you please clarify the following questions to help me better understand the project? 1. Does the reverting happen in Divi builder, wp-admin, or both? 2. Are you using Cloudflare, server cache, object cache, or a security plugin that may affect saving? 3. Did this start after an update, migration, or server change? I’ve handled custom WordPress fixes, REST/API debugging, plugin conflict resolution, and admin-save issues on Divi sites. If you want, I can start by tracing the save flow and narrowing it down fast.
