RenCare is a digital health startup offering a holistic renal support platform in easing End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients in their transition from dialysis centers to home dialysis. ESRD is a condition marked by a complete loss of kidney function. It affects approximately 800,000 individuals in the US with an incidence of 130,000 new cases per year and a mortality rate of 16%. There is currently no cure for ESRD and patients must either undergo dialysis or receive a kidney transplant. ESRD continues to impose a disproportionate burden on Medicare and federal health services. As the only chronic condition specifically required to be covered by Medicare, and accounting for a staggering $30 billion per year 7% of the Medicare annual budget, reducing costs and improving outcomes in the ESRD patient population has become a top priority for the US government.
Our application will be geared to be used in a mobile and web format and involves two main functions. One function will revolve around facilitating social interaction and other around training.
We are looking to bring a software engineer to head our app
development and will be offered a position on the founding team.
Required skills: prior development in building applications for both iOS/android, specifically utilizing SDKs (software development kits), integrating AWS or other cloud services, utilizing languages like python/c++, and integrating the built application with a website-experience with PHP/HTML. Familiarity with healthcare is a bonus, but is not required.
