Hi -
I am new to You Tube and using a camcorder for making videos.
I used a JVC HD camcorder and made 3 videos which came out as ".TOD" files. I couldn't upload them to You Tube so I simply changed/added the extension .mpg to the file name and they instantly changed to a Windows Media Viewer icon and I can open and view them just fine.
Problem is I can't upload to You Tube - it takes forever and evenatually times out and errors. The clock icon indicates the upload will take about 8 hours for the 275MB file alone, but it doesn't finish anyhow.
I also tried to upload onto facebook and can't get that to work either.
I am looking to hire someone to do the following:
1. Upload the 3 files to You Tube (sizes are 174mb, 266mb and 475mb - longest video is only 2 minutes+) - I can post these to elance in either the raw TOD or the revised mpg formats for you (I'll post both formats and you can choose).
2. Answer these questions or help me understand:
A. Why, when I save this mpg file to my flash drive and open it with another computer does it show as a mpeg file - and unable to open with Windows Media Viewer?
B. Why do I see different icons when looking at the same exact fiel on my flash drive on 2 different computers: one my laptop it shows the windows media icon and when I look at it in the directory with my desktop computer it shows a mpeg icon (and this one doesn't open or work in windows media viewer)?
C. Why can't I upload any of these formats to You Tube or facebook when the spec's fall within their guidelines in terms of file size and format?
I need this done today!!!
I will be needing help with more advanced video and web stuff on a couple of businesses soon too, so this might be a good chance to establish a relationship for more work.
Thanks,
Bruce
