This project is to redesign an existing website to have the exact same look and functionality but with a completely refreshed program/code. The employer is a global charity for children and reserves the right to select the least expensive proposal from among the responsible bidders, in its own opinion, and also reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

You will need to prepare a quote after going through the existing website and considering how you would build the new website to look exactly like the current site, but; through your own design. This would be a turn key design, so we would need a user interface to build new pages from a template, add news items and/or photos, add products to the shopping cart, etc...
By way of information, the current design of the website was constructed in 2005 using an highly proprietary system. As a result, the website is expensive to maintain and update. The employer would like to have the exact same design created with a more user friendly and open source system which can be updated primarily by the employer. We would expect the successful bidder to continue servicing future need for major updates if desired.
For the successful bidder, we will provide a dedicated ISP where you can build the new website and we can monitor your progress and test the functionality. If your proposal is accepted, we will agree to pay with four Milestone payments through GAF. Although we will mutually agree to the scedule of work and payments, the fourth and final installment (25%) will not be paid until 30 days after completion of the project to allow for any required fine tuning, adjustments or corrections.
Please include realistic schedule for completion and planned platform / system (eg, Dreamweaver, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc...)
Because we are asking that you duplicate and existing website (there will be some new work on the "SUPPORT" page to divide the page into four categories and provide better organization) the employer will not accept cost increases for "Author's Alterations" or excess development time. We expect you will be careful in evaluating the amount of work required when submitting your proposal.
Final installation of the website will not be considered complete until a copy of the source code has been receied by the employer. Access to the current website, ISP and control panel will be provided to the successful bidder and all access to photos will be through downloading from the existing website.
