We are looking to have our webstore redone with a more current cart program. Our website is written in Joomla. We currently have Virtue mart 1.1.5 and cannot upgrade the store without wiping out the custom programming we had done. The new store must be able to handle the same features/functionality we currently have plus the new requirements listed below:
We have a lot of requirements for the new change, the most important is an easy and integrated connection to our QuickBooks software (we have Enterprise 14-desktop only). Next is being able to have the “ship to” information transferred to our UPS (using ‘[url removed, login to view]’) and USPS (using USPS online shipping) and eventually DHL, with little or no effort.
We currently have custom programming added to the store to blend a set of 'handling charges' to be added to the shipping charge that the customer sees as only one shipping amount. This handling charge is based on size of product (small, medium or large) and then whether it is US or international shipping (so 6 different handling fees) and then it is supposed to add only the largest amount to a total order. So if a customer orders a large, 2 mediums and 3 small items, it will only add the one handling fee for the largest item to the total shipping amount.
Also, we need to add DHL as a shipping option (currently offering UPS and USPS, but it must incorporate the same guidelines we have with our other shipping options. We need to have certain items be shipped separately and the shipping cost to the customer must reflect that – currently the store seems to lump everything in one box and the price charged to the customer is too low. There are also a couple minor additions such as an additional customer field to what we already have and we would like to add a “calculate your shipping costs” module.
Of course we would prefer for the above items to be something the cart can handle without custom programming, if possible.
We are already using woo-commerce with another webstore we own and we are not happy with this either, so woo-commerce is not an option.
