Social Community Website Development of [url removed, login to view]

Web development of this website is open to creative alternatives or new ideas related to ease and efficiency. However, the functionality of SpottedHype must not change. A cms module such as Joomla, MODX, etc. can be used as the backbone of this website.

[url removed, login to view] is an online community website modeled after [url removed, login to view] incorporating a forum and a Q&A.

The origins of [url removed, login to view] are rooted in the [url removed, login to view], which is a fashion blog that focuses on the hype that surrounds luxury and the celebrity lifestyle. One of the unique characteristics of UpscaleHype, in which separates it from many other fashion blogs, is the ability to consistently provide accurate information on what celebrities are wearing. Soon UpscaleHype’s content began to make its way onto many websites until finally appearing on [url removed, login to view] regularly without sourcing credit. Also with the traffic growth of the [url removed, login to view] questions and request for identification of celebrity outfits began to pour in beyond a manageable control. UpscaleHype realized that they needed a community forum of some sort where user could interact and answer each other’s questions. However they did not want to have the same boring forum found on many other websites instead they came up with an idea to blend elements found in forums, Q&As, as well as those found in coolspotters and create a community that fit the DNA of UpscaleHype.

Color: The color should include those that resemble blue #3c78a7 or #7B96B5, grey #ececec, black #000000, and white #ffffff. (look to [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] for an example of the colors) Do not be restrained by the layout or design of UpscaleHype websites, they will be redesigned later to match SpottedHype. However the colors listed above or their variants are the primary colors of this website.

Web Page Layout-Homepage (Primary):

1. At the top of the Homepage there should be a Top Ad Area with enough spaced to fit a 728x90 Google ad.

2. Below the Top Ad Area there should be a Logo Navigation Area where a logo will go in the top left corner. Below the logo will be 3 buttons: Spotted, Q&A, & Forum.

• The Spotted button will take the user to the ‘Spotted’ page showing them all the latest spots. (The ‘Spotted’ page is actually a Category Page {explained below} arranged showing the latest spots)

• The Q&A Button will take the user to the ‘Q&A spotted’ page were the most recent images tagged with a question mark will be displayed and when clicked the user can also upload an image and ask a question. (The ‘Q&A’ page is actually a Category Page {explained below} arranged showing the most recent questions)

• The Forum button will take the user to the most recent discussions involving spots or other topics. (The ‘Forum’ page is actually a Category Page {explained below} arranged showing the most recent discussions)

3. Below the logo will be 8 category quick links: Celebrities, Items/Products, Brands, Entertainment, Cars, Places, Events, & More. Each will take the user to a dedicated page of spots, questions/answers, & discussions sorted by category.

4. To the right of the logo will be 3 more links: sign up now, about, sign in. Each will take the user to their respective pages for creating a free account, learning about SpottedHype, and signing in.

5. In the top right corner of the logo navigation area will be a search box where users will be able to search the website.

6. Below the search box will be 3 buttons: Create, Ask, and Discuss. Where the users can quickly get a jump start at adding a new spot/creating a new profile, asking questions through images or other, creating a topic for discussion in the forum portion of the website. (All of this buttons can be one drop down button).

7. Below the Logo Navigation Area will be a Promotion Area where a “Join SpottedHype” Button will appear at the right or left position in which the user is encouraged to create an account.

**The main areas remaining on the Homepage are Middle Ad Space Area, Most Recent Questions Area, Most Recent Celebrity Profile Updates Area, Latest Overall Topics Area, Live Overall Updates Area(Optional), Most Popular Area, Bottom Ad Area & Site Details Area. (The position of these could be rearranged)

8. Below the SpottedHype Promotion Area will be Middle Ad Space Area positioned right with enough space to fit a 336x280 Google Ad.

9. To the left of the Middle Ad Space Area will be a Most Recent Questions Area, which will consist of 6 to 8 (depending on available space) boxes where the most recently tagged images uploaded by users will be displayed in thumbnail form with an excerpt of their related question previewed beside the thumbnail image. Once a box or excerpt is selected the user will be taken to the question were they will be able to answer or comment. At the bottom of the Most Recent Questions Area will be a ‘More’ button in the bottom right corner which will take the user to all of the Q&A Category page sorted with most recent questions a the top.

10. Below the Middle Ad Space Area and the Most Recent Questions Area will be a Most Recent Celebrity Profile Updates Area at the left position, which will show 6 (depending on available space) of the latest celebrity updates via 3 thumbnail images grouped together. The largest thumbnail image will be the spotted image with the celebrity uploaded by the user, followed by the 2 evenly sized thumbnail images of the celebrity profile photo and the item/product that was identified. There will be a more button in the bottom right corner of this area, which will take the user to the Celebrity Category Page sorted with most recent celebrity updates at the top.

11. To the right of the Most Recent Celebrity Profile Updates Area will be a Latest Overall Topics Area column, which will list 10 of the latest discussion topics whether the topic is a forum comment, Q&A, or a comment on any other portion of the website.

12. On the right side of the Latest Overall Topics Area column will be an Overall Live Updates Area column (Optional), which will display live updates indicating new members that join the SpottedHype community, new photos that are added, Buy Links added, question, answers, forum discussion topics, comments, etc. Each will be clickable to take the user to that particular part of the website. The number shown will depend on available space.

13. Below the Most Recent Celebrity Profile Updates Area, Latest Overall Topics Area, & Live Overall Updates Area will be a Most Popular Area which will display the top 5 from each category found above in the Logo Navigation Area: Celebrities, Items/Products, Brands, Entertainment, Cars, Places, Events, More. Each when selected should take the user to the respective Category Page or the individual page.

14. Below the Most Popular Area will be Bottom Ad Area that should have enough space to fit a 728x90 Google ad (this size may vary).

15. Finally, there should be a Site Details Area below the Bottom Ad Area where site detail links should be located. Here users should be able to find the SpottedHype about page, community rules, FAQ, advertise, contact us, copyright, privacy, disclaimers, and all other necessary Sub Pages.

Web Page Layout-Spotted/Q&A/Forum page (Secondary):

1. *Repeat Top Ad Area found on the Homepage.

2. *Repeat Logo Navigation Area found on the Homepage

3. Below the Logo Navigation Area should be the Title area, which will display a thumbnail image of the celebrity next to thumbnail image of the item/product with a green check mark indicating that the item was spotted on the celebrity. If this is question a red question mark will be visible in place of the item/product thumbnail. Under these two images will be text indicating the name of the user that spotted or created the initial spot. To the right of the images & text will be the title, which will consist of the celebrities name and item/product name.

**Below the Title Area will be 2 sections: the Left Side which will cover up to 25-30 percent of space and the Right Side which will cover up to 70-75 percent of the space.

4. Below the Title Area on the Left Side will be a Square Ad Space Area with enough room to fit a 336x280 Google ad (the size is adjustable).

5. Below the Square Ad Space Area on the Left Side will be ‘Five Stars’ for rating the spots/questions (for popularity purposes).

6. Below the ‘Five Stars’ ratings will be a ‘Share Button’, which when clicked will reveal several options for sharing such as email, Digg, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc. Also below the ‘Share Button’ should be options for reporting a spot/question, editing a spot/question, and following (which users can follow the item/product brand, celebrity, or both and get updates on their User Profile Page.)

7. Below the ‘Share Button’ there should be ‘Buy Links’ where links to purchase items/products will be uploaded by users. Each link will have a rate up or rate down (possibly thumbs up or thumbs down) on the right side of the link. The top 5 highest rated links will appear with a more button at the bottom, which will reveal all the other links. Also links can be reported if they become bad, unresponsive, etc. (links may have to be reviewed by the SpottedHype administrators) at the top of the top 5 list will be an ‘Add a Link button’ where when clicked the user can add a new link related to the items/products place of purchase online.

8. Below the Title Area on the Right Side will be an Image Space where images of the celebrity uploaded by the user will be displayed (multiple images can be uploaded). Above the image will be a Pervious and Next for image navigation with XX of XX in order to indicate the number of images that are available for viewing.

9. To the right of Image Space will be a “Add a new photo, video, or link to spot“ button where users can upload images, videos, & links related to their spots or questions.

10. Below the “Add new…” button will be an Tagged Indicating Space, which will indicate what has been spotted such as the celebrity and/or item/product which when clicked will take the user to the respective profile/brand page. Also this area will indicate what has been marked as a question needed for identification such as “the jeans have been tagged with a question mark”. And this also applies to challenges. A small thumbnail image of the celebrity or item/product will be displayed next to each.

11. Below the Tagged Indicating Space will be 3 main tagging buttons: A “Spot It” button with a green check mark icon to the right and a “Did you find something else?” message above. A “Mark It” button with red question mark icon to the right and a “Need something identified?” message above. And finally a “Challenge It” button with a yellow exclamation mark icon to the right and a “Do you think something is wrong?” message above. The “Challenge It” will allow users to indicate whether they disagree with what has been spotted. However the challenger must have an image or some proof of what they believe should replace the spot. When each is clicked the image can be tagged with those icons and the user can leave a comment giving further information, which will appear, on the icon when it is clicked on the uploaded image. The question or comment details will show up in the Forum Thread Area below. Also there will be a report link bellow the tagging buttons where users can report spots or questions.

12. Below the Image Space in the bottom left corner will be a button, which will allow you to hide or reveal the discussion of the Forum Thread Area when clicked.

13. Below the hide/reveal button will be an Lower Ad Area that should have enough space to fit a 728x90 Google ad (this size may vary).

14. Below the Lower ad Area will be Forum Thread Area, which will allow users with an account to leave comments and have a discussion. Those users without accounts can view the discussion but they cannot comment. The Forum Thread Area will closely resemble threads found in forums where the user cannot insert a link, photo or video unless they have posted a certain number of comments. Users can be in a discussion in a thread below a spotted/Q&A and insert an image and have that image link into a brand new spotted/Q&A/ forum page while still being visible in the original thread if the user intends it to. Much like a forum the original user that started the spotted/Q&A/forum page must mark the page as solved when the question is answered for those pages that were primarily questions. Most forum rules will apply in this area of the SpottedHype.

15. Lastly, below the Forum Thread Area, *Repeat Site Details Area from the Homepage.

Web page layout-Forum Page: The Forum page will be similar to the Forum Thread Area found on the Spotted/Q&A/Forum page. This page will be just like an ordinary forum and will be used for those who want to carry out discussions not related to visual spotted or Q&A. However the topics can be incorporated into a new Spotted/Q&A/Forum page if the user wishes to do so.

Web page layout-Category Pages (Tertiary): Each of the 8 category quick links: Celebrities, Items/Products, Brands, Entertainment, Cars, Places, Events, & More along with the Spotted, Q&A, and Forum pages; which was mentioned earlier, will have its own dedicated page.

These pages will:

1. *Repeat Top Ad Area found on the Homepage.

2. *Repeat Logo Navigation Area found on the Homepage.

3. Below the Logo Navigation Area will be a Category Title Area, which will be display the title of the category page.

**Below the Category Title Area will be 2 sections the Right Side with 75% of the space and the Left Side with 25% of the space.

4. On the Right Side there should be 25 to 50 boxes each will have a thumbnail image of the main subject of that category. Beside the thumbnail image to the right inside the box will be a title, number of times the subject was spotted, number of users following the subject. Also there should be a link to buy, only when necessary for the category. Finally there should be 5 stars displaying the current rating by the users. Above these boxes should be links providing the user different ways of organizing in that category such as: Newest, recently updated, popularity, number of spots, followers, and alphabetical. The category should be arranged starting with the newest followed by recently updated as default. At the bottom of the boxes of the category should be a numerated category page navigation with pervious & next.

5. On the Left Side below the Category Title Area will be a Square Ad Space to the left.

6. Below the Square Ad Space should be a list of the recent spots, newest spots, updates, etc. within the category. A thumbnail image should be present with each and the name of the user, which discovered that subject, should be displayed.

7. Below the 2 sections, *Repeat Bottom Ad Area from the Homepage.

8. Finally, *Repeat Site Details Area from the Homepage.

Web Page Layout-User Profile Page: The design of this page should be based on the other pages. This page should allow users to update their profile image, update their description, keep track of their spots, questions, answers, challenges, forum discussions, follow celebrities, brands, and possibly become friends with other users.

All other Sub Pages should be based on the page layout of the main pages using only the necessary space.
