I am a sole trader mainly selling (bondage) rope and instructional DVDs online via Amazon ([url removed, login to view]), eBay US & UK ([url removed, login to view]) and BigCommerce ([url removed, login to view]) to retail customers. The entire inventory is currently around 150 items but these are mainly variants of a few items, e.g. quantity, diameter & finish. I also have a few trade sales via PayPal.
My requirement is for somebody to complete the set up of Linnworks. So far it is working at a basic level, i.e. linked with inventory/channels and printing postage. I need fine tuning of the installation of Linnworks, e.g additional postage rates, variants and Linnlive, e.g. checking existing templates, help setting up more for variants. A general 'health check' of the system and advice on workflow/best practice would be welcome.
I will need Linnlive templates for all inventory items (150-200, mostly variations of 20 products)and a maximum of 20 configurators (or even just a couple, the rope one allowing selection of store category), one for each sub-category (as required) for each channel. I can't see any differentiation is needed between rope categories apart from type (store category), e.g. Asanawa, Tossa Lite. Within a store category, the rope will be is several diameters (usually 5, 6 & 7mm), lengths(8m, 10m or by the metre) and finishes (untreated, dry treated or wet treated), e.g. Asanawa, 6mm x 8m, treated. Ropes are bought as sets of 1, 2, 4, 6, & 8 usually.
I'll be guided by you but I think if each type of rope is a store category, each listing would be by diameter with variants for length and finish, the set size would simply be quantity. Not all listings would use all variants. See demo of set up: [url removed, login to view]
I'd like to add diameter and weight per metre to the listings (I already have weight per metre recorded in postage) where possible.
I'd also like to improve the look, consistency and branding of listings. Your advice and experience would be welcome here.
At the moment, I offer free/inclusive postage worldwide by Airmail/First Class Mail My sales order processing system, Linnworks, has rules to allocate postage and upgrade to tracked services if the weight or value exceeds a limit. I'd also like the option of offering alternatives at extra cost, e.g. tracked courier. Again, you might have experience with shipping rules that will optimise cost effectiveness which can be applied.
Overall my listings and order processing/bulk listing system (Linnwors/Linnlive) needs a health check as I set it up myself with zero knowledge or experience of e-commerce.
