Summary of project brief
I am looking for someone to create a wordpress/buddypress plugin that would allow members to create and post updates/blog from their profile which then appear as wordpress posts and be able to choose what category that the post belongs to (Much like the way wordpress posting works normally). There is currently a plugin already available called “social articles” that does something very similar to what I am looking for however it is messy and it doesn’t give the admin much control over it. I want something very nice and simple for our users.
Details of what I would need to do
Members are able to create and post blog/updates from their profiles. Ideally we would like the menu tab on the profile called “posts”
From here we would like the following sub menus
Tab: All posts; these are all posts that the user has posted around the site, They would be in list form showing the title of post, brief summary, date and time and category they have been posted in. These are posts that can be seen by all members and site visitors. And members would be able to post comments on these.
Tab: My posts; this would contain all posts posted in the “my posts” category as these posts would be exclusive to that members profile as they could be personal etc. The member can choose who can see these posts in the post settings. “My posts” shouldn't show up in any of the post widgets or post categories. It has to be exclusive to their profile only.
Tab: Create new post (Profile owner setting)
Title: the title of the post
Content: A text box that the user can start to post in, the same as the wordpress posting system such as the toolbar etc.
Category: a nice dropdown feature from which they choose what category the post is assigned to.
Categories: “My Posts” this would be the personal category for that member, which is only seen on their profile.
The rest would be all other wordpress categories created by the admin.
Post it: the create/publish button
Tab: Post settings (Profile owner setting)
Who can see my posts; the user can decide who can see their personal posts.
As a privacy feature we would like members to choose who can see “all posts” as to prevent stalkers’ and abuse. They can choose from “logged in members” “followers” (we are using the buddypress follow plugin version 1.2) and “friends”
Site admins are able to see all tabs to help monitor the site
We really need this up and running as quick as possible
