We are trying to automate a specific billing process. With our invoices, we attach an Excel spreadsheet that shows which jobs we have done during the month. The problem is that we display this information for many clients in different ways.
Currently, we run one process that gives us the raw information needed to bill clients. Then, we manually copy that information into the clients' Excel templates following the unique instructions for each. This can be automated.
The application you create would have available to it the raw information and a template for each client. Your application would populate a database with the raw information and then populate those templates.
See the attached Spec file for instructions.
The plan is to build automation that will handle the vast majority of our clients. Then we will need to work with you to do some additional customization for the clients with the most unusual Excel templates.
When we start working, I will show you an example of the raw information. It comes in an excel file with 3 columns: a file name (which must be parsed for information stored in it), a character count, and a line count. This is all the information required to populate the database described above.
This is a fairly straightforward project. After you spend an hour to get up to speed on everything, the solution will be readily apparent to you.
