Scrap Gold Buying Website Design, Upload & Optimise V2

I need a website to purchase scrap precious metals from the trade it needs to be a clean, professional design not from a template and incorporate the following features:

Gold, Silver & Platinum prices calculated and displayed updated twice daily.

The prices are calculated using the formats below, I will explain to you briefly the history around them.

The gold prices are quoted twice a day on the London exchange these prices can be found by visiting [url removed, login to view] this price is for 1 troy oz of Fine (99.99% pure gold or 24 Carat) this we then need to get into grams by dividing by 31.1034768 as this is the number of grams in a troy oz. E.g. on today’s price it would be £11.57 per gram. This is for 24 Carat or “Fine Gold”

Gold in the UK comes in several carat formats the most common being

9,14,18,22 and fine to obtain the price for 9ct gold we multiply the fine gold gram price by 0.375 as 9ct gold has 375 parts per thousand fine gold the remaining 625 parts are metal alloys. So 9ct gold would be £4.33 per gram based on today price – Always rounded down to the nearest penny.

We then pay 96.5% of this price to the customer (We do need the option to alter this % via the back office at any time) so the calculation for 9ct gold would be as follows

£11.57 *0.375 * 0.965 = £4.17 per gram.

The system is exactly the same for silver and platinum but with different caratage standards. I will provide these calculations to the successful bidder but they are almost identical to the format above.

The client needs to be able to input weights and to receive an instant buying quote for their scrap gold silver or platinum. Calculated from the gold fix that we would update twice daily by the back office. There will also need to be a few (up to 10) codes that the client may enter to obtain a better price – e.g. If they have a large deal and they have spoken to someone at our office we may tell them a code to enter to be given a better price, alternatively we could “badge” the client via the back office to do this – either one would work.

Registration would be completed on the website and the client would need to click a link in an email to confirm that the email address given is correct. I would also require a random sequence of letters/numbers to be entered to help avoid bot registration.

When a client enters details of their metal I need them to be able to print off a delivery sheet which will show the weights & carat of metal they have entered along with the price we are willing to pay, along with their details and chosen method of receiving payment, the system should then give this a unique reference number which will be printed on the delivery sheet and then stored in our back office system. I would also need provisions to be made so that the client can print off a pre-paid postage label to attach to their parcel so they do not have to pay for postage personally; this is not something we will be doing at first but something that may be added in the future.

Once we receive the parcel we will change the status from “Expected” to “Received & Processing” The client should receive an email telling them that we have received their parcel and that it is being processed. They should also be able to see this if they log into our website.

We will then check the contents of the parcel and update it accordingly via the back office, the client should be able to see their original details i.e. the weights and carats submitted and also our checked details, If the difference is more than 5% less of the original total order value the client should receive an email from us giving them the option to either accept the new total or to request return of the parcel. I would need to be able to edit the wordings of these automatic emails periodically.

If the weights are correct then we will change the status in the back office to “payment sent” once this has been done the system needs to be able to produce a purchase invoice based on the weights inputted from the back office. This will be a standard format invoice. We should also be able to log into the back office system to produce an adhoc e.g. over the counter cash purchase invoice. Invoice numbers would need to run sequentially. Invoices would need to be available in standard format and in PDF. I would need to be able to run reports on these invoices so that I can see for example all gold purchases from a specified date to a specified date etc etc.

Client registration – storing details of their parcel and the status – Sent/Received/Checked/Actual Weight/Settlement Amount/ Paid etc. etc. Client needs to be able to log in and view their trading history with us.

Back office login that allows us to view orders due to be received and update or correct the weights/carats etc.

The website needs to be optimised for search engines which shouldn’t be that difficult I have looked at the top ranking pages on google for the terms “scrap gold” “sell gold” “buy gold” and precious metals and they are all quite poor so I would want this website to achieve good results. I would require 10 key phrases for search engine optimisation along with search engine friendly content.

I would like a clean looking website that is easy to use and corporate looking, I would like the standard pages e.g. about us, a history of precious metals, what happens to your metals….. etc etc.
