This is for a safari operator in Zimbabwe, [url removed, login to view], who currently has a web site that is partly static, partly dynamic.
As we go through evolutions, we are getting frustrated by the lack of flexibility and want to consider a CMS option: transform the site into a CMS - could be Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, you may advise... and quote !
The characteristics are the following:
(here is what exists, and what possible evolutions we foresee, which may help recommend the CMS)
- Editorial part:
It is mostly made of products pages (camps and safaris), general info, and e-news. The only requirement is to make it easy to integrate a number of pictures (see camps pages for example).
One "special" must come up onto the homepage, as well as the last "e-news".
Also, we intend to improve the template of the camps and safari pages. In fact, that is what prompts us to lookk for a CMS (as we must update manually the pages otherwise).
We may add another section with links to interviews, feedbacks, etc.
- Private section:
Part of the business is with general public, part is with agents (B2B). Those currently have access to a private section, where they can download hi-res pictures of the camps ("gallery" tab). It must be easy for us to upload these pictures, and for them to view / download them.
Agents also have access to an online reservation system (Resrequest), but that should stay out of the CMS as it is on a different platform and URL.
There is a need to integrate a subscription form for an emailing system, as well as a contact form.
Ideally, the camps and safari pages could link to it and pre-fill some information.
We could consider in the future some system of feedback from customers, if they can be moderated
We'd like also to integrate with some Facebook fan page or something.
- External feeds
We would like to ber able to integrate few RSS feeds, upon moderation, from news about Zimbabwe / tourist news.
- a recommendation for a CMS choice
- a quote for turning the existing site into CMS, based on what you can see.
The only additional things we will consider which you can not see on the site are:
1> the private section ("gallery") with pictures to download.
2> Modification/improvement of template of the camps and safari pages.
3> Including RSS feeds for Zim info.
We could provide you with detailed shots of these options.

We would preferably be working on Joomla. Else Drupal can also be used for this. This cost includes a Training session from our online Training Team as well as complete online support.
