Building a "Free Samples" plugin or extend the current one

Hello,
We want to slightly re-approach how to request free samples on our website, [login to view URL]
It is currently setup using woocommerce, with the following free sample plugin: [login to view URL]
along with some custom visual modifications.
If one were to have a look at the site, [login to view URL], and scroll down you will see the products with a "FREE SAMPLE" link. This is actually the link for the "Quick View". (the "FREE SAMPLE" link url is simply the #quick-view link. The label is changed using jquery.) On click of the "FREE SAMPLE" it opens the #quick-view of the product which simply shows the title of the product, price, short description if it exists, and a "add free sample to cart", along with a message indicating there is a sample limit. The other elements were hidden using css.
So what we want to change is the following:
When one clicks the "add free sample to cart" inside the #quick-view, instead of refreshing the page, we want it to use the ajax functionality to add the product to the cart and close the #quick-view overlay via javascript, with no page refresh/redirect. At the same time generating a cooresponding alert indicating that the product sample was added.
One behavior to note is that once 5 free samples are added the "add free sample to cart" button disappears completely. (the limit is dynamic can be set within the plugin settings). We need the button to stay visible, and instead become disabled once the limit of samples are reached, rather than disappear.
Also, on the product pages, for example, [login to view URL], there is an "add free sample to cart" button. This should become disabled once the limit is reached and not disappear. Also, instead of refreshing/redirecting the page it should use ajax.
One final adjustment that we need is that once the last free sample is added It should redirect to checkout.
