We would like to change an image of the globe at night on our current "Energy" page of our website to become a mini-interactive flash movie.
This will require some graphic design (slowly changing the image to look like what we would like) and flash programming. Flash is not necssary if you can come up with a better wasy of doing this. Here are the details:
We would like to show the night photo of the globe progress from 2007 to 2075. As the time meter scrolls to 2075, the areas which are dark (Africa, India, China, SE Asia) will light up as bright as (or brighter than) the US and Europe. Directly underneath this will read the caption which is currently on the image: "It is widely believed that energy consumption in developing countries will surpass that of the developed within 20 years. How will this demand be met?"
The Time Meter:
Two options for this; 1. A timeline meter with 5-10 years per tick at the bottom of the image can either move along from 2007 to 2075 OR 2. Like a movie the year can start with 2007 in white on the center of the image, then the 07 in 2007 can began to increase to a very fast pace, then begin to slow back down as it reaches 2075.
The image will have to be modified in Photoshop or similar program. We want the lights to slowly increase across the developing areas of the world. Initially starting with India & China, then also lighting up Africa and the rest of South America, SE Asia, Eastern Europe and Russia. A bit of research will have to be done so that places like the Sahara desert and the Amazon remain dark. By 2075 most of the map should be bright with the exception of these places.
SIZE: The size of the flash should replace the current picture on the website, see: [url removed, login to view]
The flash image and graphic design files should be able to be easily uploaded onto our website without many changes.
Thank you, we look forward to your SPECIFIC comments and quotes.
