I'm currently working on designing a site for a client that is very simple and accessible. In fact, the hardest thing about this site is the navigation menu. And this is where I'm seeking your assistance!
The menu itself will be vertical and will need to have not only the parent level but also one level below this. The trick to this menu is if a parent level must expand, it must expand upwards. Most DHTML, CSS, and Flash menu's I have used in the past have all expanded downward.
Also, the menu will need to reflect the current page by "bolding" and changing the font color of the active link (see image for details).
I have attached a mock up design of what this menu looks like. Remember it will be at the bottom corner of the site and must expand upward. Finally, the menu will need to be easy to change via an XML file (add/remove pages, change fonts, colors, sizes, etc.) This XML file must be the sole driver behind the flash template.
Thanks for your time!
No fancy animation is necessary, although a smooth transition when a parent level link is clicked to show the children is requested.
