We would like to develop a mobile app for iPhone that is used onboard ships.
Our customers have a portal based web system running on an onboard computer (running Windows operating systems). The portal is running IceWarp server.
This portal could be configured to collect our news files on a daily basis. These are sent to the ship in an xml file. Various regions are provided to suit nationalities of crews onboard - eg a USA edition, a UK edition, a Russia edition, etc.
We do not send any photos or graphics - most of the xml files are approx 50-75 Kbytes each.
The inbound files could be saved to a folder on the computer for accessing later.
We would like to be able to have a mobile app for use by the crew. They would be able to run the app on their iPhone (or other mobile devices) and then request download our news files onto the iPhone for reading, etc. I imagine that the method to download the data would be via Bluetooth - we could provide each computer with a Bluetooth device if one is not installed already.
The user would be able to remotely request subscription updates which would be sent to the server, and then sent automatically to us via mail.
I would be interested in receiving proposals on how you may achieve this - and if you have any other questions to assist in formulating a coherent proposal for this project.
Thanks
