## BIO * Created a web site aimed at helping people predict football results. The web site has a PHP front end and talks to a MySQL database. The main statistical page is totally dynamic and generated using client-side JavaScript, thus reducing the size of the upload, and allowing the page to become far more interactive. The PHP pages are initially generated locally using a VB.Net application that executes complex stored procedures. The files are then uploaded to the remote web server. * Created and maintained several web sites created with Teamsite templates for a publications company. * Worked in a team of eleven to create an eCommerce site using Inter world’s Application Server for a major department store. Inter world’s application server was used for the front-end of their ecommerce site, which communicated to an MS SQL Server database. XML was used to send orders to the back end VB components via MS message queues. * Worked in a team of eight to create a VB ASP Intranet/Internet site for occupational psychometric testing. An ASP front end was created which made use of distributed VB components to perform the business logic. The components used MS SQL Server as its database. * Designed and created a back-end VB application to produce a dynamic set of questions for an Internet site using a database of questions and requirements supplied by the client. Automated VB components were created which selectively picked questions from a MS SQL Server database to create a test that met a required criterion. VB Script was used to store the test’s criteria and run to check that the selected questions could be used together. * Created a VB application to allow users to manipulate data in a database for a car rental firm. A lightweight VB front end was created which made use of distributed VB components to perform the business logic for the application. The components made use of MS SQL Server to store data. VB Script was used on the front end to make sure any data manipulated by the user was done correctly. The VB application also communicated with MS Access to produce reports. * Converted and optimised an Access database into Sybase for a large law firm. A working MS Access database, which made use of a subset of the company’s database was copied and manipulated to work on the organisation’s full Sybase database. * Supported changes and bug fixes to an existing developed application suite. The suite was made up of applications that were created using VB and C++.
