Design and Fabrication

Communicating with the deaf and hard of hearing can be a challenging task. They use sign language to communicate, and individuals who are not familiar with it need to learn the language to understand them, causing communication barriers. Sign language uses hand gestures and facial expressions, where hand gestures are used to recognize alphabets and words. To overcome this barrier, a deep neural network model was used to predict linguistic signs. Based on vision-based gesture recognition technology, the team used the Inception V3 convolutional neural network to train a model that can recognize hand gestures to provide language communication.
