Casalini Torrossa - FullTextPlatform
Casalini libri's full text platform offers access to over 225,000 articles and chapters, 13,000 ebooks and 550 ejournals from over 150 Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese publishers. I had been involved in this project since 2010. I integrated Apache SOLR in this search application, meaning with that: - configuration of the indexing process (data is composed by bibliographic records with associated rich documents so Apache Tika and SOLRCell are used) - configuration of the "search engine", the underlying search service; at the moment the service is balanced, using a round-robin algoerithm to dispatch requests among several searchers. - configuration of a master (indexer) / slaves (searchers) architecture based on native replication capability of SOLR. Documents are therefore updated frequently on indexer side but only periodically the index is synchronized and available for searches. http://www.torrossa.it
