## BIO **** Project Experience ** Advanced Software Development** Customer: U.S. Software Company Assignment: Fax Service Routing Engine for Windows 2003 Server Fax Service, providing fully customizable fax routing of faxes based on different criteria (CallerID, MS Office OCR). Full Active Directory Integration. During the development the built-in Windows 2003 Server Fax Service was extended using undocumented information and system-wide API hooking and DLL injection. Customer: U.S. Software Company (NDA signed) Assignment: Developing library to parse different proprietary database file formats. For this extremely complex task we used the front-line reverse engineering techniques, including heavy use of Interactive Disassembler Pro (IDA), writing our own C++ decompiler, API and DLL hooker for internal purposes. The most issues for this format are: they are proprietary, i.e. completely not documented, there are lots of different versions and formats within one product line, also these are server databases, which can be extremely large (up to several TerraBytes!). So, we needed to have full and total support of all formats, all versions and all sizes. We implemented this task successfully, and now the application is the leading one in its segment. Also the efficient GUI was developed to support and ease of use this library, with powerful search, bookmarking, highly customizable exporting engine with ability to export into different file formats Customer: Software Company Assignment: Brute-force password breaker for well-known steganography tool "Steganos", and application for storing encrypted passwords "Stealth Password Kit". For this heavy reverse engineering techniques was used, as password-breaking process should be performed as fast as possible. Several flaws found in mentioned applications' RSA algorithm implementation, allowing to brute-force passwords much quicker than usual. **Low Level and Device Driver Development** Customer: Software Company Assignment: Develop kernel level device driver, which should programmatically switch off monitor. For these undocumented features of Windows video filter drivers was researched, resulting in silent driver install and functioning for one or multiple monitors. Customer: Software Company Assignment: Kernel-mode driver to provide access to FTP server through mapping it to Windows disk drive letter. For this the special framework was developed allowing extending functionality by adding custom protocols, defined in user-level DLL. Customer: U.S. Software Company Assignment: Windows kernel-mode driver to provide disk image mapping to the drive letter, supporting several image formats, including encrypted and packed ones. Support was added for the all versions of Windows started from Windows 95. **External Devices Communication Protocols** Customer: U.S. Software Company Assignment: Application for synchronizing data between PC and cell phones or GSM SIM Cards (using SIM Card reader device). Supports Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung and other phones. Serial (COM) and USB connections supported. During the work more than 100 different cell phone models was investigated, for almost all of them the protocol documentation was performed (due to the fact this information in undocumented by manufacturers). After that, it was wrapped in multi-tier plug-ins based application, with tree-view handy user interface, complete bookmarking and search, customizable exporting. During the application development some extra tools were developed, such as "SIM Card Complete Copy" application (so called cloning), etc. ## Area of Expertise Operating systems: Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista, Windows 9x, Novell 3.12+, Linux, *BSD, PalmOS, WinCE/Windows Mobile, Symbian Languages: C/C++/ObjectiveC/C#, Assembler 80x86 Compilers and development tools: MS Visual C++ 5.0+, Watcom C++ 10.0+, Borland C++ 3.1+, Delphi 1.0+, JBuilder 4.0+, GNU C, GNU Fortran 77, Crystal Reports Frameworks: Win 32 API, MFC (Microsoft), Microsoft Platform SDK, Windows DDK, .NET Platform SDK, COM, COM+, ActiveX, ADO, ATL, STL, DirectX, OpenGL Protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP, SOAP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, WAP, Serial/USB device communications.
