Description Friends Provident is very well known Insurance giant in the UK. This portal was developed for their clients to calculate online multiple quotes for insurance policies. Once logged on a client could quote on different policies at a time and send the request to apply for the insurance online. The portal interacted with other applications like, Quote generator, Underwriter and then performed the final process on the quotes. 80% of the quotes were handled online by the portal. Role • Responsible for full modules like prepare and dispatch the quote documents • Involved in front end developed using jsp, html, AJAX, javascript • Involved in PDF generation and efficient storage on the file system • Unit testing and system integration 2. Eselect June 2006-May 2008 Employer: Friends Provident, UK Tools: Eclipse, ATG Dynamo, Java, JSP, J2ee, Oracle. Description Friends Provident was always differentiated with other insurance providers by its software application. Eselect was the first application Friends provided to its client and made history with in the business. Eselect is the online quote generation application available to individuals and other insurance agent. This online application collected as much information from the client and interacted with other application to generate a quote and if client wished they could continue tp apply. Role • Development of few modules like Underwriting, Document history. • Giving training to new comers on ATG Dynamo App Server • Testing , Integration • Later on involved in Maintenance of this application. 3. E -Government Online Services Oct 02 –May 2006 Employer: District Council, UK Tools: Jakarta Struts, IDE Net Beans, EJB, Java Server Pages, Tomcat, Apache, Jboss, Unix Operating System, JavaScript and Ant script, DHTML, HTML. Description This is a Central Government initiative for all councils to bring all their services online. Main Objective of this project is to develop online access for all possible services. With this application council's most of the services in revenue, housing, planning, benefits, leisure etc can be accessed via internet by public. Users can pay their council tax online, apply for discounts and benefits, fill online applications, check housing benefits if they are getting and many such services. Public can register for interested activities with leisure department. Before the related course starts, registered people get SMS on their mobiles or letter by post whichever preferred contact method they have specified while registration. Users also can have their own user account with the council. There are many such online services which make people’s life simpler and quicker. Role • Involved in studying council's present services. • User Interaction for collecting requirements. • Server and project environment setups. • Involved in developing Ejb and JSP pages using Struts MVC Architecture. • Writing Ant Scripts for building jar files and uploading them to servers using FTP. • Preparation of test cases and execution of them using JUnit. 4. YogaEd CRM Web site Dec 2004-June 2005 Employer : Yoga-Ed, US Tools: PHP and Perl, FileZilla Description Yoga Ed is an organization which has certified yoga trainers. Customers can book for Yoga classes This project provide online services for customers like students , teachers and schools who are interested in Yoga taking /teaching/arranging classes. They can register online , book for courses. Schools can arrange these classes in their own studios. Website also provides separate areas of information for parents, teachers etc by providing login authorization. Role • Development of WebPages using php and perl. • Uploading them on servers . • Test the pages as per client’s requirement. 5. Mobile Work(tm) Product Suite Jan '02 to July '02 Client: Utility Partners, US Tools: EJB, Servlets, JavaScript, Oracle (8i), XML, BEA WebLogic, JSP, DHTML, Unix OS Description The Project deals with the custom development of a new work management system. The product "Mobile Work(tm) Product Suite" is the integration of products such as work order management system, Field Application. Here any customer can logon and performs a business to consumer transaction. The prototype of the application was deployed using J2EE server and later on deployed the same using Weblogic 6.0 server. Description This system is a web-based system for Intranet users in the organization to report their software/hardware problems to the system administrator. The system provides an interface so the user can search for a particular job based on various criteria like geographical location, position etc. It also allows the user to submit resumes on the web site interactively. PubLAN Lite 2.0 Jul '99 to Mar '00 Client: Lucent Atlanta, USA Tools Used: Windows 98, VxWorks. C, Java Description Lucent Atlanta is an USA Based company working in wireless data communication and networking. In this project, we developed a protocol stack for a wireless communication and to provide a secure Internet access to all users from Public places like Airports, Hotels, multi dwellings residuals. This project was based on Protocol 802.11. Role • Involved in coding, testing for bugs, and integration of the different modules.
