A lot of companies work can be automated. That gives ability to finish task quicker and rules out human error factor.Some examples from my experience in no particular order: * calculate how many containers will be needed for given order and how to distribute different products so the value and weight will be spread evenly. Oder with 5000 lines took a team of 3 people one and half days. My script did it in less than a minute. * create dynamic excel spreadsheet and web page to show sales forecast, collecting data from various sources, including Sage, DeltaBond, DeltaWMS, CSV and other excel spreadsheets. Finance team took hours to gather information from all sources and putting into one database. My script does that automatically as soon as new information is available. * build website for car parts seller. Using HTML, PHP, JavaScript and CSS. The website has responsive design, tested on multiple devices as well as for low network speeds, as required per targeted website audience. Designed with UX \ Ui in mind, dynamically loading content with compressed pictures, SEO friendly and other improvements to make pages work best for targeted customer. * send customized reports to different customers. Every Friday 3-4 people worked for an hour to complete. My script reads information from SQL and send customized emails in less than 5 minutes. * calculate the duty liability according to HMRC requirements dynamically for multiple truck loads or single case. Calculations include products like spirits, wine, beer and others. Took one person week to calculate truck load, but a VBA script can do that almost instantly. * upgrade existing warehousing system - big project, psychically coordinated wireless access point deployment in a warehouse taking into account any interference. Build server and application mainly with Laravel and SQL plus some minor add-ons. End result - any device that can open web page can be used as barcode scanner, laser scanners attached via cable or Bluetooth. When goods arrive delivery notes are scanned on system and automatically attached to scanned pallets\cases, amounts have to be entered and goods can be put in racking, a location scanned in the system. Admin side can see live upgrade and has to fill in the info from previously scanned delivery documents.There are a lot of steps in process, please feel free to contact me for any questions, let me just say that system works for outgoing goods also, automatically prints out right paperwork/labels, etc. And for stock count and other tasks, as well there are reports accessed only from the management side. There are other functionality, but I leave that for questions if any. * A automated system that enters order details into the specified application from different sources like emails, excel sheets, word documents, CSV files, web sites, XML data, EDI messages and preparing missing product reports instantly.
