Volvo Race Sailing Directions
To promote the Irish Cruising Club's Sailing Directions for the coasts of Ireland, I was approached to produce an online extract of the books for leisure craft to use who are turning up to enjoy the Galway leg of the Volvo Ocean Race, it was also to serve as a prototype for an e-book distribution of the entire book. WordPress was used to produce the site. The site was then converted in an offline Adobe AIR application suitable for use on a boat. "For quite some time I have been hearing you name being mentioned in, let me hasten to add, glowing terms. And only recently have I seen the good reason when Norman made a short presentation to the ICC Committee. He had given me a preview which had helped. I have to say, that what you have achieved is phenomenal and it brings to life what e-delivery can do. Additionally, the availability of a beta version for the Volvo event in Galway will be a huge 'window to the world' for it." David Tucker
