Christchurch Street Photography | Photography 2015
This series of street photography was initially inspired by the photographer Vivian Maier. I did a massive amount of research browsing Vivian’s work, and I also included techniques I’d learnt through my study at ACG Yoobee. The shooting was finally done on a sunny day whilst wandering about the Christchurch city center. I stood a certain distance away to make sure my targets were not disturbed or alarmed, as I wanted to capture them in very natural moments. In a word, I tried to be invisible! After shooting, the adjustment and cropping of the images were done in Adobe Lightroom. The colour choice of black and white created a mysterious mood, which I hoped would coax viewers to think about the stories behind the photographs, or even remind them of their own personal experiences.
