SEO friendly responsive Wordpress website for US based co
The project brief was to migrate an existing site to a Wordpress site using a premium theme. I created a child theme in order to make modifications to the theme that the client provided. The reason I used a child theme was to do safe modifications which would not be wiped out when the site upgraded the theme. I migrated all the existing content to the new site and created designs for the slider and different elements of the site. Once the site was completed I created 301 redirects to redirect for all the old URLs, in order to safely redirect search engines to the new site and retain the SEO ranking of the site. I also GZIPed the site and minified the CSS and JS files to decrease site load time - since this is an important factor for SEO ranking. I also used a cache plugin to enable browser caching and optimized all the images on the site.
