I am a database and development professional who has worked in the industry for over 17 (yes, seventeen) years. This includes government, financial and online sectors, with frequently overlapping roles. I have proven high-quality skills in solution design and construction backed by solid and established trouble-shooting and analysis skills. From a database perspective I have very significant exposure to 3 of the "big 5" DBMS systems with certification in two (Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase) and a personal love for MySQL. In addition to this I have significant experience with many "alternative" or "niche" databases such as Access, DBase, Paradox and many more. As a programmer I learn on Pscal and COBOL but jumped to C very early on and earning a teaching position with that language. From there my mainstream career followed visual Basic, Powerbuilder, Java and C# .Net. But my personal infatuation with C and Assembler never waned and I keep those skills active even now. I frequently say "if you find a programming language I don't know I will learn it well in short order" - I have yet to be proven wrong tho many have tried. My forte when working in mainstream development houses is translating client requirements into technical solution design and from there to database and programming structures. As you would expect I am a fluent writer and student of the english language. And an Aussie to boot.
