SUBU Rebrand

SUBU Rebrand

Students’ Union at Bournemouth University was in need of a refresh of their logo. The brand wasn’t highlighting its strengths and incredible achievements. Too much emphasis was on Bournemouth University and it didn’t stand out as its own brand. Using a subtle change in the hierarchy of the text and ditching the word “at” as students know they were already at Bournemouth University as well as outside organisations still easily identifying the charity due to its longstanding iconic round square. Many techniques were used to form guidelines displaying where the logo should be presented on ranges of work, also bridging the gap between the Students’ Union and understanding of Bournemouth University Students. Text and colour were key to efficiently portraying them all individually, partnering together and for them to be identified under the same umbrella.

About Me

A passionate, dedicated, experienced visual designer, I hail from the South coast of England and have worked for many exciting agencies at a range of levels. This has led me to managing a diverse mix of designers where I spearheaded operations for Universities, charities and many businesses and I work in all specialisms of design. Although I proudly accept my strongest craft is branding, it is my fascination with simplicity and beauty in mark making that allows my work to showcase these skills the most. I have used this process to create resilient while alluring logo’s, popping posters, elegant books and thousands of other print and online pieces. Learning through tirelessly perfecting my trade, I continue to practice daily. Obtaining the attributes to naturalise efficiency in meetings has given way to systems that fully absorb briefs and in-turn produce stunning client solutions fulfilling their aspirations, if not surpassing them.
