Act as the focal point for the technical operation of the Centre’s websites and associated social media functions. This is a technical role, coordinating a major website in a busy, fast-paced environment, working as part of the wider Communications team with colleagues across the Centre and in the regions (Eastern Africa, Western Africa, South East Asia, East Asia, South Asia, and Central America). My tasks are to: • Design and maintain intranet , blog and website information architecture and user interfaces • Design and maintain content management systems for the website, blog and intranet • Develop innovative applications for the website, blog and internet • Manage the hosting platform for the website, blog and intranet • Research and implement new technologies that can be used to improve web service delivery • Train and support content administrators in the use of platforms and delivery of web services • Develop, maintain web usage reporting tools and generate analysis and reports • Integrate applications developed by other units into the web structure • Maintain the library software system and support users • Work with other hosted institutions’ websites as necessary • Sites managed: o http://blog.worldagroforestry.org o http://worldagroforestry.org/ar2013 o http://trinlap.co.ke o http://worldagroforestry.org (Currently Revamping: http://test.worldagroforestry.org) o http://intranet.worldagroforestry.org o http://wca2014.org o http://afforum.org

Web assistant, tasked with running and maintaining both the intranet system and the main websites (PHP,ASP,HTML,CSS,Ajax, JQUERY,Mysql MSSQL) in the following capacities: • Editing and modifying web pages according to user requests • Creating new modules for specific needs for users • Upgrading the system • Intranet and website restructuring process • Process automation and CMS inculcation to pre-existing static web pages • Offering consultations in regards to new systems and options.
