01. Advertising (Graphic Designer / Creative Director ) The beginning of my career as a computer graphic designer was at the Audio Visual Centre which is the media unit of the Agricultural department in the year 2000. The logo of the Audio Visual Centre and the guide map of Peradeniya Botanical gardens, were my initial designs in advertising graphics industry. Joined the National design centre of Moratuwa – Sri Lanka for the Higher National Diploma in Multi Disciplinary Designing which was successfully completed in three and half years in 2004. My areas of services in Advertising industry had expanded today from a commercial graphic / advertising designer to a creative director and a consultant in advertising media, where it provides “Total advertising solutions” under my consultancy and brand name. Over fifteen years of experience in the industry of advertising, I have successfully assured the capability of catering for the international market, through advertising for companies like Autopoint – UK, Shai Almana Tea – UAE, Dole Asia inc, and for a number of local companies in advertising and designing; Brand, Company and event logos such as Techno Lanka Technical Exhibition etc, and Corporate Identity, advertising and event design for Commercial Credit Limited, etc. The advertising campaign which was designed for the city branch opening of Commercial Credit Limited was the most recent outcome of my beyond the borders creativity which was boosted up by the freedom in designing and decision making by the client, which was almost a 360° campaign that had raised a lot of curiosity and had achieved its fullest sales target within a month, and that used a building as an advertising material for the first time in Sri Lanka. 02. Fashion and textile (Designer / Lecturer ) My journey in fashion & textile begins in 1996 being awarded as the best costume designer at Youth awards 1996. Qualified in fashion design (as a subject) under HND of Multi Disciplinary Designing at the National design centre - Katubedda. Winning of the runner up position of the mini pageant Mr. Congenial at pageant Mr. Hill capital was my first experience and exposure as a fashion model. I have rendered my service as Fashion designer as well as a Fashion choreographer at many fashion events such as Maleesha Bridal show, Dale fashion – (Norway) fashion show, etc which are the icons of my journey in the industry. Being appointed as a visiting lecturer – fashion & design at the University of Moratuwa for the academic year 2003 – 2004, at The Golden Key Institute of Computer Technology for the academic year 2004 & 2006 – 2007, and also at the Department of Textile Development, are added experiences for the fashion chapter in my career. Currently I'm focusing on the process of development and promotion of my own brand eranda © in the Sri Lankan fashion and textile industries. 03. Events ( Designer / Choreographer / Manager ) My career as a choreographer commences with fashion shows as such Dale fashion – Norway, Maleesha Bridal show, and had headed through event choreography to event designing, ex: Product launches, wedding choreography, special occasions and celebrations etc., of which the latest outcome was event choreography of the "Fresher awards at Fonterra Annual awards ceremony 2007" which was held at Culture club Dambulla and event managing the "60th Anniversary Felicitation ceremony of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya". Wrapping and unwrapping of a 30ft x 30ft x 60ft building as a gift under the theme “unwrap your dreams…” for the city branch opening of Commercial Credit limited – Kolpity was the event that was designed and choreographed by me, which was up to fullest satisfaction of all parties involved, and one of the most “beyond the border” designs which was done by me. 04. Cinematography (Actor / Art Director / Assistant Director / Director) Commencing as the assistant art director of the teledrama "Mage Sanda Oba" (directed by Sanjaya Withanage, telecasted on Swarnawahini), playing several roles in the teledrama / film industry, I have rendered my service as a script supervisor, art director, assistant director, and a director in various local and foreign productions inclusive of television commercials, documentaries and music videos (What makes me happy – an international children's movie by Ragdoll –UK, documentary for Nokia – UK, etc). 05. Motivation ( Stimulative Strategist ) In the beginning of my career as a stimulative strategist, Motivation lecturing was a part of my services rendered in Advertising. The first series of my motivation lectures was delivered in 2005 for the employees of Rohan's Automobile Ltd, and was continued as a sub service of Advertising until its inauguration as an individual profession in 2008, with Asia Hospitals Pvt. Ltd. Currently managing the motivating programs for the employees and the Management of Bambino Pvt. Ltd., and professional grooming and lifestyle enhancement programe for EMA Maliban garments [login to view URL] - under GAP Inc.-USA. 06. Business Development ( Consultant / Strategist ) My role as a Business development consultant / strategist comes in to act as a third step to maintain the flow of a company when it boosts up with advertising and secondly, motivating the employees. Ltd ( [login to view URL] ) is one of the companies that had lead it's path to success with a smooth flow of operations, as a result of my services consulted in advertising, motivation and finally, business development.
