I have worked on various technologies like Silverlight, SharePoint, Visual Studio 2008/10, Java, and IBM WebSphere. I use the Chicago Manual of Styles, 15 edition as a style guide. I worked with a Lawyer as an editor for 8 months and my work was to type out legal documents, make a soft copy, and proof read them. It was a basic job of checking if the Names in the documents are correct, checking for grammatical errors, spellings and formatting the text. I have worked as a Technical Editor for 10 months with an IT Publishing Firm. Here my job was to edit IT books where I needed to check for grammatical errors, typographic errors, apply styles, format the text, and perform code testing on the respective technology. I needed to communicate with Authors of the particular book and solve any queries which I encountered while editing that particular book. I also needed to check for copyright material if any. Recently I am working as a freelance content editor for an e-learning company. Here my job is to work with the Capella University as an editor and edit courses. as a content editor, I have to check for grammatical errors, spellings, format the text. I also need to perform Safe assign which involves checking if the matter is copied from any other website or book. It also involves checking the IDR where media elements present in the course are placed and I need to edit them in terms of grammar and spellings.
