Selected achievements * Affinity benefits -- Beginning in 2005, debuted discounted BoardSource subscriptions to Council members. (BoardSource provides guidance/resources on nonprofit governance and regulatory issues.) Marketing was accomplished exclusively via e-mail broadcasts over 30-day period. Despite Council's finite membership (115 organizations), effort resulted in more than 100 subscriptions, qualifying participants for even deeper discounts. This success was repeated in 2006 and 2007 and garnered very positive feedback. * Event marketing -- Transitioned Council from direct mail to broadcast e-mail for promotion of public events/briefings. Tactic reduced expenses (printing and postage), increased attendance and allowed for better tracking of attendees. * Health Groups in Washington -- Directed production of last two editions of this flagship directory, including supervision of research staff and reviewing/editing final drafts prior to publication. Post-production marketing efforts in 2007 resulted in record sales of directories as well as companion mailing list. NATIONWIDE MUTUAL INSURANCE, Columbus, OH, 5/1996-3/2004 Senior Communications Specialist Served as marketer and principal content developer for non-profit affiliate (Nationwide Federal Credit Union). Managed web site, print collaterals (annual report, display advertising, brochures) and electronic communications (presentations, broadcast e-mails). Selected achievements * Web redesign -- Directed in-house revamp of entire web site in 2003 at estimated cost savings of $50,000 in less than four months. Personally wrote all marketing/educational copy for site's 500+ pages. * Product development/campaigns -- Debuted new certificate of deposit with goal of attracting $1 million in deposits within 60 days. Coined name "AcceleRate Certificate" to convey product's tiered-rate feature and rapidly created promotional pieces (web, print and e-mail) resulting in deposits of $3.5 million. Due to initial success, program was resurrected two months later and generated $4.1 million. * Leveraging e-marketing capabilities -- In tandem with organizational goal of recruiting 48% or more of Nationwide Insurance (sponsor company) new hires, developed targeted e-mail campaign linking directly to online enrollment. Membership goals were exceeded in both 2000 and 2001 with electronic registrations comprising one-third of applicants.
