Tom thumb illustrated childrens book.

I have recently entered the macmillan competition and created an illustration book for the famous fairytaleTom Thumb. For this project I have used nieve qualities to relate to youngsters and have incorporated textures from photographs I took especially and collaged them in with both watercolour paint marks and computerised pigments. Another thing that I considered was the composition; I made sure that all the illustrations were dynamic and thought of myself as a camera man to make the illustrations as gripping as possible. And I used repetition of pattern, constant recognition of characters and filled each compostion with detail.
Sobre Mim
Hi my name is louise lloyd and I am trying to become noticed in the illustration industry.I am a student at the university of northampton studying for a degree in Ba Hons Illustration. I have done lots of projects from editorial illustration/posters/paper craft/ journals/ and most specifically a childrens book done for the macmillan competition which I bagan to find my style whilst doing. My mark making is very detailed and I fill all the space with the masses of markings. I use textures in my work to add depth and work well using pen/ink, pencil/graphite and watercolours. I also use photoshop and indesign to create pieces and my work also has pattern incorporated in it too. I use borders to frame my work as they look more delicate within them but I then have bits and pieces spilling out to add dynamacy. I really would love to work for anybody who takes an interest in my work and will put all the effort I have into all the projects I recieve. Thanks for looking xx
