I worked at Rapp Collins (part of DDB Worldwide) from October 2006 to May 2008. While there I developed and worked on many end to end data warehouse solutions for some high profile clients, including American Express, Carrefour and McDonald's. The projects I worked on involved designing data systems to accept regular updates, store the data and do reporting, plus many ad-hoc queries and other data-related tasks, such as website front ends for data collection and some email marketing. The systems we used were mainly MS SQL Server 2005, including automated Integration Services packages for ETL and Analysis Services for data analysis and reporting. The databases themselves were developed as a normalised database structure, which was then adapted into a dimension model to be processed into OLAP Cubes. I was involved with some of the data capture side, including development of web pages and microsites to receive customer information. For the most part, I was the main developer on all of these projects, and so have good experience in all aspects of the data warehouse design and development. My background is in ASP.NET development, using C#.NET, VB.NET and [login to view URL] - I worked in Singapore at PASR Technologies as a Web Application Developer for just over 2 years (from December 2003 to January 2006). In January 2005 I was promoted to Application Development Leader, and lead the Development team. At PASR I worked extensively developing with the .NET Framework, with SQL Server backend. I gained excellent experience in all aspects of the life cycle of development, from analyzing and defining customer specifications to functional specification, application coding, unit & integration testing, and through to deployment and ongoing support, and in all areas of development from database design and creation to front end coding of multi-tiered applications. As a perfectionist, I find that I am driven to solve problems in the best possible way that I can, rather than just finding a quick and easy solution that may cause problems later on.
