The golden era of my PCB layouter experience come after the design center migrated to Altium Designer. Each project made in AD contains the schematic sheets, the PCB and the associated output job having a direct relation in between (replacing the old ECO/ECN generation file), the tool being suitable for my last digital projects (backplanes based on VPX/cPCI-serial standard, containing increasingly more active parts, or complete custom projects with EMC/ESD requirements).

The responsibilities of this position were the following ones: - to support the project manager with the requested information needed in the inquiry phase - defining the BOM files (PARTs/SMDs lists), - by military projects, taking part in the discussions(PDR/CDR) - checking that the gerbers can be sent to the PCB manufacturer. - releasing the final BOM of the project - preparing the files that will be used by our production during the assembly process.
