Skills used: - Industrial design - Heavy equipment design - Hydraulics - Weldments - Basic sheet metal - Large assemblies - File management Project that I did for a small local company: Reverse engineering a prototype sawmill, making fabrication drawings, and putting together a comprehensive user manual. A textbook example of industrial equipment design and large assemblies in SolidWorks: While the sheet metal aspects of the project were fairly basic, the weldment parts and assemblies were large and complex. This project included everything: nuts and bolts, bushings, custom-made hydraulics, clips, close tolerances, and moving parts. A common problem in this industry, I kept track of parts and drawings with a simple and easy-to-understand numbering system for finding things. This project is on the larger side of work that I normally do, and it makes for a good sample of work that I've done and my abilities. (Note: Many design elements are excluded from the images)
