PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN: > Data Compression using C/C++. * Description: Data Compression is done using LZW algorithm by which data is replaced with 12-bit codes. The codes are defined in a dictionary which is implemented at runtime. Similar data pattern is replaced with the same code value and thus there is an overall compression. * My Role: Implemented and coded the LZW algorithm and achieved compression ratios of 50-60% for text and GIF files. > Missile Launch using MicroC/OS-II (RTOS). * Description: Missile is launced based on our selection of targets viz a moving target or a stationary target. Speed of the missile depends on the speed of the moving target. Distance of the target from the missile, the time to hit the target, fuel meter, pressure, temperature are all analysed and displayed in real time. * My Role: Implemented, coded and build the design using C in MicroC/OS-II environment. > 16-bit Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU) using Very high speed integrated circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL). * Description: The ALU has an adder, subtractor, multiplier, divider, shifter, comparator and logical units performing the required functions. Each unit is coded using VHDL, and simulated to verify the output waveforms. * My Role: Implemented and coded divider, multiplier, shifter unit using VHDL > Room Security System. * Description: Room Security System restricts the room entry to authorized personnel, with a secret password. Room temperature is also monitored and buzzes an alarm when the temperature is above a critical value. * My Role: Implemented temperature monitoring and power supply unit.
