I was a Madison Avenue copywriter slightly later than what they show on TV in Mad Men. But what I would like to do is what I did in the 70s and 80s, repositioning a client with what we used to call “name-onics” so that after seeing the advertisement, people had to remember the product like today’s Geico Gecco or the AFLAC Duck. My version of that kind of thinking anbody can find in the youtube commercials for Tang (google: “tang moon men commercial” and click on the first youtube commercial showing the animated aliens that wanted the astronauts to bring them back more Tang. I was the copywriter who created that series of commercials at Young and Rubicam in 1970 and(google keywords “Country Time Lemonade commercial grandpa” where I was the copywriter on the first 4 nationally running commercials at Ogilvy and Mather in 1976 that made the product one of America’s 200 leading brands. I don’t know how to get those two 30 second commercials as an attachment, but if you can or know someone who can help me email them, clients will get an idea about what I can do for them in just 1 minute as someone who can makeover their message so people will know what client was responsible for that clever message and the customers won’t say, “That was very clever, but can’t remember who the client was.” I don’t know about pricing, but you were good the last time. I need some short meeting with clients, see their advertising, and then time to propose their more focused message. And then time for revisions and then production like some of the things we can do on barter. Please suggest something. Sincerely, Philip Becker
