Real Muthaf***in’ Muzak!
That's THE statement...The statement (pause and all) that meant exactly what two boys grinding up beats and rhymes wanted to say.
"The Producer (Tone Beatz)" made beats that were musically in tune, very rarely sampled, and always super hot. His southern swagger was/is ever present in his work though his brilliant diversity gives his sound a unique and new feel that mesmerizes listeners and captivates them into his world. With a knack for finding that perfect blend of substance he stays trendsetting and complete. His production is from the heart inspired by life and living in reality which keeps it REAL.
"The MC (100 Proof)" - a man with a lot to say and roots in hip hop. This half of the duo brought to the studio his hunger for wisdom. He put into his lyrics principles, priorities, and discipline from an urban perspective with the rawness and reality of his environment and self. He put forth effort to keep his music and ideas real, realizing that greatness is an everyday battle to stay true to ones own reality while constantly pushing forward.
The two meet thru a cousin of 100 and after one session together both were committed to the effort of being successful in the music industry, realizing the potential in each other and their natural chemistry, (thus the phrase "like Jordan and Pippen") the team was set.
The name of what started off as a two man team was easy to put together for the duo; Real (life & living) Muzak (beats & rhyme). In no time at all, their first project, the "100 Proof Mixtape" was born.
Real Muzak was off to a slow start when they were approached by then CEO of the record company formerly known as LockDown Familia (L.D.F.), Beans, after hearing a copy of the mixtape. 100 Proof and Tone Beatz soon joined the L.D.F. as artist and producer under the direction of Beans and other Co-CEO's of the former LockDown Familia. However, due to differences in vision, Beans quietly resigned from his position as CEO of L.D.F.
While planning for the launch of his own company, Beans was approached by 100 Proof and Tone Beatz with an unrefusable offer to Co-Own and act as CEO of Real Muzak. Enter "The Coach (CEO Beans)" The play maker for the dynamic duo (the "Phil Jackson to the "Jordan and Pippen" team). Every good team needs a good coach and coaching staff. Beans combines his knowledge of the music industry, and superb leadership skills with his street smarts, laid back and mysterious personality, and powerful presence to make him an irrefutable choice as the CEO of Real Muzak. Beans' mission is to keep Real Muzak as Real as can be, music and business alike.
Real Muzak was officially incorporated in Mahoning County Youngstown, Ohio as an entertainment and promotions company on May 30, 2006 with Beans, 100 Proof, and Tone Beatz as Co-Owners. Real Muzak Studios is located in Youngstown, Oh while its corporate office is located in Steubenville, Oh. Since Real Muzak, Inc.'s Founding Date, the team has grown to include COO and Real Muzak VIXENS Founder and Manager, Aundrea Wilks, Heavy W8(Artist), G Short(artist), DJ Stan The Man, the Real Muzak VIXENS (promotional modeling team) and Photographer/Graphic Designer - Sabrina of Bad Girl Productions. Looking to give other music lovers a chance to gain experience in the industry, Real Muzak, Inc. has taken on a group of interns from across the State of Ohio. Real Muzak, Inc. is also assembling a Real Muzak Dance Team to perform with artists during shows and a security team to assist with events, parties, and shows.
Since, its inception, Real Muzak, Inc. has constantly been on the go. Its desire to become a leader in the worlds of the underground and mainstream alike is constant motivation for Real Muzak, Inc. to continue its efforts in pioneering new ground in the entertainment industry. Recognition of these efforts were received through the nomination of Real Muzak, Inc. for Best Promotions Company at the 2007 Ohio Hip Hop Awards. Striving to break into the major entertainment markets, Real Muzak, Inc. has taken on the Ohio promotional campaign for Slip N Slide Records, the home of world famous recording artists such as Trick Daddy, Trina, Plies, Rick Ross and more..
Real Muzak, Inc. has presented and co-presented over 20 parties including Super Sexy Pajama Parties, Jordans Only Parties, Album and MixCD Release Parties, Fashion Shows, Grown & Sexy Events, Model Searches, and XXXtreme Halloween Events in several cities and have performed and been special guests at many more.
DJ Joey Fingaz & Big Heff's "Real Muzak Vol. " Mix CD hosted by 100 Proof was released in May 2007 featuring music by Real Muzak, Inc., Young Buck, MIMS, Jim Jones, and more. 100 Proof's "Swagger" MixCD Hosted by Tone Beatz featuring music by 100 Proof, Heavy W8, G Short, Young Felon/Grind Related, and R&B Artist Lovely was released in October 2007 and is to be hosted on [login to view URL].
Artist 100 Proof is currently on a promotional campaign for the release of his first album, Thoroughbred. He was nominated and received 2nd Place for the Best New Artist category at the 2007 Ohio Hip Hop Awards. He was also nominated and received 2nd Place for Best Video for his feature in fellow Youngstown recording artist, Notice’s “on the Flo” video. These achievement were honored in Youngstown’s “One Step to Life” newsletter and [login to view URL]. A photograph of 100 Proof performing at the 2007 Aids Benefit Hip Hop Concert was also featured on Cleveland Scene Magazine’s [login to view URL]. Chosen as one of the independent artists for the Slip N Slide DJs Unsigned Artist Showcase, 100 Proof will be performing in Florida for a chance to win a promotional, radio, and distribution deal with the Slip N Slide DJs.
Artist Heavy W8 is currently in the studio working on his first mixtape, Round One. He is also featured on DJ Joey Fingaz & Big Heff's "Real Muzak Vol. 1" MixCD Hosted by 100 Proof and 100 Proof's "Swagger" MixCD Hosted by Tone Beatz as well.
DJ Stan the Man is currently a DJ on Youngstown’s # 1 Hip Hop and R&B radio station 101.9 JAMZ and has his own internet radio show "The Real Deal" 101.1. He was voted 2007 Best DJ by [login to view URL] and was the winner of the 2007 Battle of the DJ's Contest. DJ Stan the Man was also nominated for Best Club DJ at the 2007 Ohio Hip Hop Awards. He also hosts weekly parties at Boardman, Ohio’s Salty Grogs and Kent State University’s College Night. He is the CEO of his own company as well, Platinum Entertainment.
The Real Muzak VIXENS elite clientele includes clients such Slip N Slide Records, the Kickdrums/5 Star Organization, ITW Marketing, ESP Enterprises, Ruff Ryders Motorcycle Club, Burghtown Music, Inc./No Doubt Records, ABM Officialz, Jay 5, Mark Malice, 2Fly Keith Logan, and more. She also was recently chosen as CollegeHumor's Cute College Girl and will be featured on their website. One of CiCi’s sexy new photos has also been displayed in the One Model Place image showcases. She is featured also featured in 2Fly Keith Logan’s video for “She Got It” as well and in Mark Malice’s ‘her Mind Her Body’ video. Ciandra Nicole and CiCi were both nominated for Best Model at the 2007 Ohio Hip Hop Awards and received features in the CP2 Entertainment Magazine for being two of the hottest ladies in the building at the award show. They have also been recently hired as Slip N Slide Records Official Ohio College Reps.
