Triple Clamps for a racing motorbike
While designing the motorbike for MotoSpirit UPC, we went through many versions of every part, always looking for the best performance. This particular case is the tiple clamps system, whose function is to join the frame and the front suspension of the motorbike. The pictures show the last two designs with their simulations and the actual part after manufacturing it. It can be seen that in the final version we achieved great stiffness at the same time that we reduced the amount of material used.
About Me
I have worked in some of the most demanding work environments: the automobile industry and racing teams. I have worked for some of the biggest automobile groups (Volkswagen, BMW, PSA, FIAT, Renault, Ford) performing structural simulations and making design recommendations. During my last University years, I joined MotoSpirit UPC, a project made by 12 Engineering students in which we designed and build an electric motorbike from scratch. In order to achieve this, we developed all the steps of the project, from looking for sponsorships and financing to assembling the parts, including its design and manufacturing. This experience led me to work for some motorcycle racing teams, either as a part of the team or offering engineering services as a freelance.
