NEOKARMA Documentary Video

by StudioSooma

Neokarma is bringing handcrafted ceramics and “forest friendly” tea from the beautiful, mountainous region of northern Thailand to the world. The Lahu people have been growing these teas in the rainforest for many generations. I joined the team when the company began, so I was able to craft the company’s visual identity from scratch. The main thing we wanted to communicate was bringing nature to the city and offering city-dwellers a refuge from the constant stream of modern life. About Me

PORTFOLIO WEBSITE: [login to view URL] After studying Communication Design in Leipzig, Germany, my work has taken me from Germany to Thailand, and now Portugal where I am based. Throughout this time I have worked on a range of projects from branding, videography and graphic design to illustration and printmaking. I have been bringing together these disciplines to create innovative branding for artists and companies. In today’s fast-paced and perpetually online world, it is not enough to simply create a stylish product or service and hope for the best. Attention spans are short and the demand for content is high. Consistently offering engaging, visual stories and experiences can raise your service or product above the competition. All aspects of design, the product and its creators are interconnected. Building a visual identity from scratch doesn’t just mean choosing a nice font and some good colors – it goes far beyond that. The visual identity of a brand must communicate who the company is trying to reach, and also it needs to reflect the people running the company and what they stand for. This is the key to creating meaningful, brand content and concepts that genuinely connect with your audience.
