He is a wildlife photographer and cameraman. He graduated with a Diploma in photography and videography from CRAFT in Delhi. He joined the Nikon technical office and held the position of a technical associate for two years, during which time he conducted both indoor and outdoor photography workshops. He has also assisted fellow filmmaker Amoghavarsha in the “River Terns of Badhra” documentary and also was part of the “Wonders of Monsoon” documentary team led by Sandesh Kadur. Sumanth worked on making documentary films for CEPF (Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund) and ATREE (Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment) on the Western Ghats. He also worked as a photographer and cameraman for a WWF-UK project on Rhino survey in Nepal. He is currently working as a primary cameraman for a natural history documentary on the highly-endangered Brow-Antlered Deer (Sangai).
