o Wind turbine blade (similar in size to a GE 1.5XLE turbine) of 43.2 m length made of airfoils S818, S825 and S826 for the root, body and tip was used. Air flow is assumed to make the blade rotate at an angular velocity of -2.22 rad/s. The Fluent solver is used to find the aerodynamics loading on the blade. o Pressure contour, velocity vector, the fluid streamlines and the torque generated were obtained from analysis. o The pressures on the wetted areas of the blade are passed as pressure loads to ANSYS Mechanical to determine von mises stresses, force reaction, moment reaction and deformations on the blade. o Software: Ansys Fluent, Ansys Mechanical, CFD Post.
