Mr. Allen Rodgers recently embarked on a consulting career after the successful sale of eCollege, a leading provider of integrated, standards-based eLearning solutions, and its subsidiary company, Datamark, the nation’s largest strategic marketing company exclusively for colleges and proprietary schools. Mr. Rodgers is known as a strategic leader with proven ability to lead large-scale software development projects, and achieve success through process, organization, and technology initiatives. He has a proven track record of innovation and delivering successful projects, on schedule, within budget and a unique ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams. He is also known for ability to examine complex issues, identify inefficiencies, and develop new tools or processes to streamline operations. Mr. Rodgers served as Senior Director and Architect of Technology for Datamark, and as Director of Administrative Solutions and Technical Consulting at eCollege. During this time, Allen successfully transformed Datamark’s fledgling software development capabilities into a professional organization. He was responsible for architecting Datamark's technology strategy, a 3-year initiative designed to evolve Datamark’s technology capability into a world-class marketing service provider. By consolidated four disparate software teams into one organization, redundant processes, applications, and systems were eliminated for an initial savings 300K. Allen was also responsible for remediating all significant IT-related significant deficiencies to insure SOX compliance, and migrating legacy applications to web-based .Net applications. At eCollege, Mr. Rodgers managed the Technical Consulting development team, maintaining aggressive project timelines while preserving product quality and meeting ambitious revenue goals. Efforts to devise a parallel development process and iterative release schedule in response to ambitious timelines and changing requirements resulted in the successful release of CATs, and KOSSA assessment tools for the Kentucky Department of Education. The institution of an ongoing audit process led to the reduction of developer bugs by 50-percent. As Director of Software Engineering at eCollege, Mr. Rodgers integrated the company’s first offshore development team. This effort resulted in the first successful launch of an all-offshore development project. Allen also managed the design and development of company’s first Business Intelligence product. A restructuring of the Product team resulted in a new product vertical, Enterprise Reporting Services (EPS). EPS has successfully delivered a 4-year reporting vision, which provides a central data warehouse, self-service reporting, and Business Intelligence to internal/external clients. As Development Manager at eCollege, Mr. Rodgers was responsible for the successful launch of several new products including CampusPortal and the Administrative suite of tools. Efforts to streamline maintenance processes resulted in an 80-percent reduction of bugs and decreased resolution time by 50 percent. Allen was also responsible for development of a session management system to preserve state during server fail over, which was successfully delivered 4 weeks ahead of schedule. While at BTG, Inc. in Colorado Springs, Mr. Rodgers designed a facility management system using GIS technology, which resulted in the procurement of a $2.5M contract with Schriever Air Force Base. He also designed and implemented a Circuit Line monitoring application for use at Cape Canaveral. With over 16 years of experience in the software-development industry, Allen’s areas of expertise include software design and architecture, product development, project management, new technology evaluation, organizational redesign, risk analysis and mitigation, strategic planning, and crisis management. Previous experience includes the Department of Defense and other areas of government, insurance, and the petroleum industry. He has over six years of experience in the online education industry. Allen holds a B.S. from Texas State University.
