Kumarapatnam, Karnataka State - INDIA Unit : Rayon Grade Pulp with Cogeneration Power plant Exposure : Engineering Division, Projects & Plant Engineering. Special Assignment : Worked on special project of Grasim, Nagda (M.P.) Viscose Staple Fibre Division to develop a Cellulosic processing polymer reactor for the solvent spinning plant from April to September 2004. Responsible for Coordination of Engineering activities such as design & drawing, vendor development, co-ordination with purchase, electrical & instrumentation, follow-up & inspection at vendor’s works. The reactor is having rotor (f550X4600long) driven by Hagglund’s hydraulic drive. CAREER SUMMARY From March 1998 Onwards: At the Plant Engineering, reporting to GM (Engg) Job context: Managing the Projects & Maintenance activities such as: -Estimation, Planning & Execution of plant modification & expansion projects, annual shutdown jobs for timely completion with quality, cost and safety aspects through external contract. -Checking and approving vendor’s main documents for Mechanical items -Checking and commenting on drawings and specifications prepared by Mechanical vendors -Preparation of Erection and Installation enquiry specification, floating enquiries, arranging Erection offers, preparing Tender Comparison and Specifying of construction details for Mechanical erection jobs. - Monitoring the progress of erection jobs in relation to planned schedules & Management reporting -Monitoring & control of the quality of erection work and ensuring the safety -Co-ordination with Electrical & Instrumentation for smooth workflow -Commissioning & start-up & handing over for production -Planning, scheduling and execution of the running plant maintenance activities according to the PM schedule. -Estimation & Planning of essential spares and consumables, raising purchase indents -Procuring and inspection of the received materials. -Execution of the repair activities and essential assemblies. -Implementation of Asset Management principles like 5S, Jishu-Hozen, Keikaku-Hozen, Kaizen, Poka Yoke and training the workmen. Major machinery erection & commissioning jobs carried out: - Pulp Mill Equipments like Preheaters (Sarabhai Make), Screens, Vacumm Washers (Hind Dorr Oliver), ClO2 generation plants & Drying plant. -Various centrifugal pumps & piping systems such as Liquor, Stock Pumps, Medium Consistency Pumps (Ahlstrom-KAMYER), MC Mixers, Vacuum Pumps, Blowers & Fans. -Tangential entry Tower agitators, Chemical Mixers - Various capacities of Worm and Helical reduction (3 stage) gearboxes. (Greaves, Allenmax make) -Erection of material handling equipments like belt conveyors, screw conveyors and bucket elevators -Rotary flash dryers drum, tyres, bearing rollers, drive gears replacement and alignment. (2.7M dia, 8M long) by M/s Phillips Kiln Services, Mumbai. -Various types of valves including pneumatic control valves, steam traps etc. -Erection of hydraulic power pack (150 bar working pressure) including vane pumps, double acting cylinders and connected DC and solenoid valves. (Vickers and Yuken make) From August 1990 February 1998 At the Engineering division. Engineering Division handled manufacture, erection and commissioning of pulp and paper, allied chemical plant equipments and systems against orders from the clients on turnkey basis. The main responsibilities include: - Preparation of Bill of Materials from P&ID and assembly drawings, Material and cost estimation for the manufacture. - Detailing and specifications for bought out items and floating enquiries. -Quality plan preparation, incoming, stage wise and final inspection of machinery components and assemblies. -Preparation of welding procedure specifications (WPS), witnessing welder’s performance qualification tests in accordance with ASME section IX on client’s request. - Inspection of bought out items, co-ordination with shop floor during final inspection from clients. Major Facility at Engineering Division: -Plates rolling up to 32mm thick with machining capacity unto 3400mm diameter -Welding and finishing machinery such as GTAW, CO2 welding and Air plasma cutting. -NDT inspection like ultrasonic flaw detector, Magnetic particle Testing -Dynamic balancing machine (2 plane) Major equipments/systems manufactured commissioned by Engineering Division: -Vibrating screens, screw presses, chemical mixers, SS lined vessels, heat exchangers, agitators, thickeners and Vacuum washers in various materials of construction such as AISI 317L. -Lime sludge reburning kiln with connected material handling systems and tankages. -Recovery boiler black liquor firing system including liquor slurry pumps, piping and instrumentation. Trainings/Workshops attended 1) Internal auditor’s training for ISO 9001:2000 by ISI Banglore, (Year 2003). 2) Internal auditor’s training on ISO 14001: 2004 by CII New Delhi, I (Year 2005) 3) Workshop on advanced TPM by corporate World Class Manufacturing Cell, Mumbai (Year 2005). 4) E-learning courses of 24X7 Learning Solutions in General Management & Operations through Aditya Birla Group’s website Adityadisha 5) SAP-Plant Maintenance ASAP methodology with one complete life cycle implementation & configuration. Presently, Certified Assessor and carried assessment during Chairman’s awards for manufacturing excellence- 2009 cycle. ERP Exposure & IT Skills Implementation of SAP R/3 (mySAP ECC 6.0, Business Suite) ERP, Plant Maintenance module. This complete life cycle implementation of ERP-“ONEVSF” in all the Pulp & Fibre Business with ASAP methodology, WIPRO as implementation partner has gone live on October 6, 2007. My responsibility being a core team member of the module representing the Grasim Pulp Division – Harihar include preparation of AS IS documents, discussion with consultants for mapping the current state of business process (CSBP) & developing the future state of business process (FSBP) co-ordinating with the unit to mitigate the gap with respect to Change Management, Preparation, validation & testing master data in the system and training the Power Users & Go-Live users of Harihar unit. I was also a part-time member of implementation team of Investment Management & Project Systems (IM-PS) module of SAP R/3 in “ONE VSF”. Acquainted with Windows Xp, MS Office.
