Texture analysis techniques like Fourier Transform and Wavelet Transform were extensively studied and applied for accomplishing this task. Evolutionary computing strategies such as Genetic Algorithms (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and hill climbing were used for selection of optimum features. For pattern classification Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) were studied and applied. The end product of this project was a web based system for classification of ultrasound liver images. -------- PROJECTS -------- Image Segmentation: This project was based on concepts of image processing and evolutionary computing. Hierarchical Genetic Algorithm (GA) was applied for segmentation of medical images. Implementation was done in MATLAB. Sudoku Puzzle Solver: Objective of this project was to model Sudoku puzzle as a constraint satisfaction problem and apply AI techniques (backtrack search algorithm) to solve the puzzle. Implementation was done in MATLAB. Eternity-II Solver: Eternity-II is a well known edge matching puzzle which involves placing 256 square pieces into a 16 by 16 grid, constrained by the requirement of matching adjacent edges. Variants of backtracking search algorithm were implemented in MATLAB for solving this puzzle. Book Store Management System: This project was focused on development of a database system for a book store for keeping record of employees, customers and sales etc. All implementation was done in ORACLE-SQL and Platform used was ORACLE-10g. Othello Game: Following object oriented approach console based Othello game was developed in C++ and its computer player was also implemented using Mini-max decision rules. Textures in OpenGL: Aim of this project was to model different 3D shapes (such as cube, cylinder sphere etc.) in OpenGL and apply textures on them. ------------------------------ AWARDS RECEIVED / ACHIEVEMENTS ------------------------------ 2011-20012 Qualified for the scholarship for MS System Engineering form Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). 2007-20011 Qualified for the scholarship for BS in Computer and Information Sciences form Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). 2003-2005 Awarded merit based scholarship by Federal Directorate of Education for passing middle standard examination. 2010-2011 Worked as additional secretary for PIEAS Debating Society (PDS) and organized many events including PIEAS Inter-University Declamation Contest in 2011. October 2010: Winner of Triathlon (MATLAB Programming, Digital Logic Design & Microcontrollers) event in NUST EME Olympiad 2010.
