Developed a chatroom framework that sits atop Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 allowing for moderated chatrooms, recorded conversations, and advanced security features using the STA COM RTC (Real-Time Communications) API. Later upgraded this solution to use Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 and the .NET UCMA, or Unified Communications Managed API), as well as a highly proficient Presence query system using UCAJAX (Unified Communications AJAX API). The UCMA solution also included custom tabs in the Communicator window driven by ASP.NET and AJAX. This new portal replaced an antiquated mainframe application and now services well over 2000 salespeople. Developed several Proof-of-Concepts to sell consumers on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, as well as enhanced existing MOSS installations with custom data reporting. Coded image processing, OCR, form recognition, data export, and other document-centric libraries. Architected frameworks to abstract and encapsulate best-practices for high-performance, large-scale systems. Designed interfaces for object modeling, data access, advanced Win32 API access, direct memory access for rapid image processing, and visual controls for common purpose, look, and behavior. Developed components for and assisted in the architecture of a flexible, distributed workflow platform. Architected a client/applet framework for distributing and updating applet code, dynamically managing loaded modules for improved memory usage, and using proprietary files and formats from third-party workflows. Designed and developed a scripting framework to dynamically compile and execute user-provided code in any .NET language. Designed for direct late-binding or strongly-typed early-binding through inheritance. Developed and presented in-house seminars to development team members to advise and educate on common Sourcecorp frameworks, patterns, and utilities. Promoted from Imaging Systems Specialist to Senior Imaging Systems Specialist, to Senior Application Developer, to Senior Software Architect. **Consultant II, Microsoft Consulting Services, Los Angeles, California ** *December 2000 – December 2002* Architected and developed prototype portals for Digital Asset Management Systems using SharePoint Portal Server, Office XP Developer, and Visual Studio .NET for MGM and other studios. Deployed similar but smaller team portals using SharePoint Team Services. Included database of over 100 tables, several hundred stored procedures, and many user-defined functions. Developed extensive documentation for knowledge-transfer to in-house developers and detailed reports for end-users. Designed and developed parallel object structures to control data flow and collect information from WMI, which was later converted to an object oriented inheritance hierarchy using .NET. Reduced code size by over two-thirds from Visual Basic 6 and earlier versions. Presented at .NET launch events up and down the West Coast to crowds of 1000 and more. **Senior Programmer Analyst, Kaiser Permanente, Pasadena, California ** *July 2000 – December 2000* Maintained and extended custom workflow applications for healthcare claims processing and optical character recognition of claim data by accessing document images stored in FileNET. Converted existing monolithic code structure to a more extensible and maintainable system of hierarchical objects. **Developer/DBA, The Back and Joint Clinic, Bryan, Texas ** *July 1998 – July 2000* Architected and developed TurboBill 2.0, a more highly evolved chiropractic practice management suite developed with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 that handles legal, preauthorization, reporting, note taking, accounting, and many other medical office tasks. Developed a dynamic report engine capable of producing Microsoft Word document, HTML documents, PDF documents, and more from templates, a self-upgrading component structure, a scanned document storage facility similar to FileNET, and field-level secured access to data as primary features of TurboBill 2.0. Developed a plug-in system that allows the primary interface, forms, menus, and controls to be altered without rewriting the main code. Architected and developed TurboBill 3.0 as a multi-tiered system that includes database scripting, multi-level security, DLLs and OCXs that separate data access from interface elements, and an integrated web browsing tool for locating up-to-date help files, plug-ins, and components available over the local network or over the web. Included database of over 170 tables, 440 stored procedures, and a single data diagram that outlines more than 300 relationships, both cascading and non-cascading. ## Area of Expertise Microsoft .NET Frameworks 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 -WCF -WF -WPF Microsoft .NET Compact Frameworks 1.0, 2.0 Microsoft Win32 API Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2002, 2003 Microsoft Visual Basic 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, .NET 2002, .NET 2003, .NET 2005 Microsoft Visual C# .NET 2002, .NET 2003, .NET 2005 Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0, 2005 Microsoft Team Foundation Server Microsoft Enterprise Library Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, 2000, 2005 Microsoft Internet Information Services 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0 Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX XML XHTML DHTML Scripting Image Processing -Atalasoft DotImage -LEAD Tools Document Imaging -Pixel Translations PixTools -PrizmIP Image Processing -ClearImage Image Processing -Custom Image Processing using direct memory manipulation Third-Party Libraries -Infragistics NetAdvantage -XCeed Components -Developer Express -IdeaBlade DevForce -NDoc -NUnit Microsoft Windows 95, 95SE, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008 Microsoft Exchange Server Microsoft Active Directory Services Microsoft Windows Management Instrumentation Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server Microsoft Virtual Server/Virtual PC Microsoft Windows Mobile 5, 6, 6.1 Microsoft Office 95, 97, 2000, XP, 2003, 2007 -Word -Excel -PowerPoint -Access -Outlook -Publisher -Visio -SharePoint Designer (FrontPage) -Communicator Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 -STA COM RTC API Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 -UCMA (Unified Communication Managed API) -UCAJAX (Unified Communication AJAX API) Borland Delphi for Win32 or .NET
