Marubeni America Corporation (MAC) is a general trading company, engaged as an intermediary, importer/exporter, facilitator or broker in various types of trade between and among business enterprises and countries. MAC is headquartered in New York City, with several other U.S. locations and approximately 40 subsidiary and affiliated companies across the United States, Canada and Mexico. MAC is the largest overseas subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation, which is one of the largest general trading companies in Japan, and a Fortune Global top 500 company. My major role is to develop new applications for MAC's Finance Department. My Responsibilities: 1. Developed a global trade finance management system to replace the old Trade Data Repository system. The new system is web-based application, accessible to finance and business units/subdivisions, has a comprehensive reporting capability and audit trail enabled. The old TDR was built by Norman Technology (Vendor), It has a limited capability on reports it can generate. The new system have more features and benefits that can be utilized as a versatile resource. It is a comprehensive, Multi-user, multi-role and multi-process system. 2. Developed a FX (foreign exchange, Forex) system to replace Excel based FX process. There are four major processes related with FX contract management. (1)Contract Application Process (2)Contract Execution Process (3)Reconciliation Process (4)Report Process. 3. Developed a Document Management System. It allows all users to select multiple files to upload, and allows larger uploads. makes it easy to share large files in fly. You can remove/replace documents from the box at anytime if you like. You are in control of the distribution. The system can control different security access. 4. Developed a Securitization Reporting tool, which is a sub-project with colleague. A web interface is created to generate a comprehensive Securitization Report with several clicks. But the process behind is sophisticated. 5. Completed the development of GoToCash improvement to have an approval process on payment for subsidiary companies. It allows subsidiary's user to upload and submit payment file, subsidiary's approver will receive email notification and go to system to approve or reject it. 6. Developed a Payment Notification Auto Email system. 7. Created a web interface to import the exe zipped text files, extract them automatically, and import the text file to database, display the importing result as html.
